I was really hoping to see a lot of the old town of Bordeaux and many of the main attractions on this tour. Most of the churches, bridges and bell towers are all within a reasonable walking tour distance. Instead, our guide was 19 minutes late and then gave us a long discourse about one of the fountains. It was a very pretty fountain but not worthy, in my opinion, of half an hour out of the now 1 hour 50 minute tour. The guide did relate a lot of history about how Bordeaux came to be a city and had many maps detailing this and although this was very interesting I would have rather had a more thorough walk around the city. I would not really recommend this tour. This was a bilingual walking tour since we took the tour in October. Our guide, Catharine, did a great job showing us around Bordeaux. She explained the history and culture very well. I would have preferred the tour in English, but it was the low season.
