What to expect
The Blue Lagoon was formed in 1976 during operation at the nearby geothermal power plant. In the years that followed, people began to bathe in the unique water and apply the silica mud to their skin. Those with psoriasis noticed an incredible improvement in their condition. Over the years, Blue Lagoon has been innovative in harnessing this gift of nature to develop different spa services and products.
After having enjoyed all that the Blue Lagoon has to offer, you can either return to Reykjavík or be dropped off at Keflavík International Airport (KEF) valid from October 1st.
Admission to the Blue Lagoon is NOT included and must be booked in advance.

I appreciate the bus driver for dropping us off to the nearest bus stop to our hotel. I would recommend your service to my other friends. I will also book another excursion when I comes back.

We booked this transfer through Get Your Guide - which is cheaper for the exact same service that you wluld book directly through Reykjavik Excursions. Buses were clean, comfortable, and on time. We took the 9am bus to the lagoon and returned on the 1415 which we felt was a good time to spend there. The only annoying thing was that the Reykjavik Excursions website had the timetable of buses for October and December but not November - so we made a guess and confirmed with the driver that there would be a departure at that time. I tried emailing Reykjavik Excursions to confirm the timetable for November but never heard back from them. In any case - we didn’t have any issues using the buses and it was cheaper than the buses provided by the lagoon. Would use again. This exceeded my expectations!!! It really was amazing. We thought we might spend maybe an hour in the lagoon. Ended up spending over 2 hours in the lagoon!! Very well organised, very clean, staff exceptionally helpful. A unique experience… please do this!
