The Cave was awesome. But Snorri made the whole experience interesting and fun. He truly seemed to enjoy what he did. Made jokes and had fun himself. Was full of facts and stories.

L'Islanda non è una destinazione economica ed il tour a visitare le grotte nel ghiaccio ne è un chiaro esempio: il costo dell'escursione è semplicemente spropositato!!! Dal punto di ritrovo presso la laguna degli iceberg si arriva con una super jeep al piazzale dove comincia una breve passeggiata...
L'Islanda non è una destinazione economica ed il tour a visitare le grotte nel ghiaccio ne è un chiaro esempio: il costo dell'escursione è semplicemente spropositato!!! Dal punto di ritrovo presso la laguna degli iceberg si arriva con una super jeep al piazzale dove comincia una breve passeggiata in piano, La grotta consiste in un tunnel naturale scavato alla base del ghiacciaio dalle acque di fusione. Lo strato di ghiaccio della volta della galleria è sufficiente a far passare la luce esterna: ne risulta una tipica colorazione azzurra di volta e pareti, decisamente suggestiva. Molto interessante vedere il flusso d'acqua provenire potente dal basso (passaggio sifonante?) piuttosto che scorrere nel tunnel. Quindi parte della galleria visitata è sostanzialmente fossile, anche se reca chiaramente i segni dell'attività idrica. Interessanti le spiegazioni della guida. Tristissimo ed impressionante il fatto che il ghiacciaio arretri di circa un centinaio di metri all'anno, se non più e noi assistiamo in diretta al suo disfacimento. il nostro gruppo contava una decina scarsa di partecipanti. Abbiamo avuto tempo a sufficienza per la visita e le foto di rito. Trattandosi di una meta molto famosa, chiaramente è molto affollata. decine di tour per diverse agenzie agiscono in contemporanea, alternandosi disciplinatamente nella visita al tunnel. Se cercate l'isolamento del sottosuolo questo non è il posto che fa per voi.
