Took this birdwatching tour on March 31 with Sid. Had a great time and so many birds including flamingos, egrets, osprey, ect. Sid was a great guide and it was a quick trip from Lisbon to the estuary. Would recommend this tour for anyone interested in nature; I really wanted to see flamingos and this tour did not disappoint! Cid was an interesting guide, and informed us about other animals in the reserve, as well as the birds.

The Birdwatching Experience with Captain Sid fell nothing short of spectacular! Embark the zodiac for a 30 min ride to the other side of the Lisbon estuary and you'll start seeing a completely different landscape and wildlife popping up in the small islands and beaches that make up the once industrial and much more rural shore opposite Lisbon. The captain's expert navigation through sandbanks and the various points of interest showed an impressive wealth of knowledge and respect for the area and the wildlife. As there is always another crew member, you're kept informed at all times of the various birds, fish and sights that roll out in front of your eyes, never in an intrusive way. Expect Flamingoes, Eurasian Spoonbills, the occasional Heron, small fly-by local birds, and a mountain of oyster shells like you've never seen! Upon returning to Lisbon, you'll see some of the sights and landmark monuments as you sip on local sweet wine and enjoy the sunshine. A morning really well spent.
