This was my first overseas trip and it did not disappoint! First and foremost I would like to give tremendous commendations to our guide Efe and our driver Okan. Both were with us (myself and my girlfriend) for the majority of our time throughout the country (Izmir/Kusadasi, Antalya, Cappadocia) and we could not have been given a better pair of people to take us through Turkey. Efe was supremely knowledgeable about the historical, geographical, and cultural significance of each location we visited and was always happy to answer questions we may have had. Despite the tour being for up to 12 people, we spent most of the tour as a couple or with one other pair so the group size was relatively small. Despite this, it never felt like we were being babysat by Efe and he always let us work through the sites at our own pace (although he might want to invest in some winter gloves if he wants to stay outside with us Canadians :) ). He frequently made himself available to us when we needed help and was always careful to check in and keep us updated on the upcoming days activities. At day end, he even provided recommendations to local places we could stop and see or grab a bite to eat. You would be lucky to have Efe as a guide, we enjoyed our time with him and learned a lot from him. Our driver, Okan, was always good for a laugh and some good tunes in the van. Always punctual, we were never left waiting when travelling from destination to destination. Despite the heavy snow while we were in Cappadocia, we never had concerns with Okan behind the wheel. The tour itself was very well organized and I am impressed with the responsiveness of Ozgur at Tour Altinkum. There were unforeseen circumstances (we were there during the earthquakes in Gaziantep and we received a large amount of snow) which put some legs of our trip a little behind schedule, but we were frequently in contact with Ozgur at all hours of the day and night getting the details sorted out. Tour Altinkum was an exceptional organizer and I have no reservations in recommending them to anyone considering travelling to Turkey. The tour itself was incredible. Turkey is a beautiful place and the stops along the way were chosen well. The 10 day duration left enough time to see the big sites in each city/region without becoming overbearing in terms of stay duration. As we booked in the slow season, we often found ourselves at sites/restaurants/museums with very few other tourists which allowed us lots of time without feeling rushed. The first half of our trip was blessed with great weather, whereas in the second half we had a good amount of snow. My advice for travelers considering going in the winter: make sure you have a hat, gloves, and some good boots with you. Despite the weather, we found it took away very little from the trip - Efe even mentioned at times in the summer it can be very hot, and certain areas would provide little shade (i.e. Pamukkale or Cappadocia). The hotels at each site were suitable to the location. I particularly liked our hotels (booked as 3 stars but we did end up in 4 star hotels) in Istanbul and Cappadocia which provided a more rustic experience (and not to mention the unbelievable breakfast spreads provided at each place - a 10/10 from me). Overall I would recommend this tour to anyone and cannot sing high enough praises about Tour Altinkum, Efe, and Okan.On the whole , the visit was a pleasant and enjoyable one. On the whole , the visit was a pleasant and enjoyable one. The accommodations and breakfast were great! We enjoyed the rich history, clean and civilised society , hospitality of Turkish people, beautiful scenery especially the blooming Tulips and the list goes on…. My impression is great about Turkey! Tour Altikum, Karem had been a great coordinator who is ever ready to help wherever he can and responded to text messages promptly . Thank you Karem, for making our trip a smooth and enjoyable one! The tour guides and drivers were all very punctual and professional in their jobs. However, the guided shopping to various shops should be made optional on the itinerary so guests can make an informed decision whether they would like to spend more time at the historical sites or participate in such shopping. Unfortunately, due to unpredictable weather, balloon ride was cancelled several times despite extending our stay at Cappadocia.Turkey is our 33rd country, and our family of 5 is somewhat jaded when it comes to prebooked tours. Turkey is our 33rd country, and our family of 5 is somewhat jaded when it comes to prebooked tours. But this tour company exceeded our expectations. Kerem had our tours and intercity flights neatly booked in 10mins; all our communications just on whatsapp. He and his team work 24/7, are very responsive and patient to queries and concerns. Transportations were all luxurious, the drivers courteous, friendly and on-time (hello Okan!). The tour guides were all knowledgeable and proficient in English. We thirsted for knowledge, and the guide Emre delivered it in spades. He is incredibly intelligent, had a pleasant voice (just dont let him sing), and is very passionate about his work and his country. In the short 5 days we have been together our family was sad to part with him as we go to the next city. The second guide Hati went out of her way to cheer us up in cappadocia. She was very sensitive to our needs and understood our limitations, so she adjusted the schedule and timing of activities accordingly. She also knew the best time to be at the sites, the secret places to shop and enjoy a cup of delicious turkish coffee. The best thing about Emre and Hati is that, its not just work for them. They actually want to make sure their guests have fun while experiencing the histories of Turkey. Thank you so much kerem, Emre and Hati. You have made our trip a very memorable one.
