Very beautiful island. Should be in relatively good physical health….lots of hills and steps to walk. Loved the boat trip that took us through the caves.

Our tour guide Nuno was amazing, he kept us enthralled throughout the whole experience. He was incredibly knowledgeable and a lot of fun to be around! We were informed well in advance via email of a cancellation on the original day that we booked due to the sea being too rough to make the crossing from Peniche to Belenga, but we were able to rebook for the following day with ease. The Island itself is absolutely stunning and a must see! There's a really nice restaurant with amazing food and a nice bar/cafe just behind. It really felt like paradise. Small beach, glass bottom boat tour, restaurant/bar, and a small bit of hiking to a Fortress with some incredible history attached to it. We were advised beforehand regarding sensible clothing/footwear so we all turned up prepared. It definitly helps if you're good with being on boats and are up for a bit of hiking. But when I went, our group consisted of all ages, even a small child who had a brilliant time! The option to add pictures isn't working for some reason but just google/instagram search of Belenga Island, it really does look like that! I can't wait to return to Portugal to do it again.Everything was nice. Julius, the boat operators, gave us a smooth ride over. I took dramamine, just in case, but didn't need it. The seas were calm. Everything was nice. Julius, the boat operators, gave us a smooth ride over. I took dramamine, just in case, but didn't need it. The seas were calm. Nuno, the tour guide, was awesome and very attentive, informative, and knowledgeable. The Around Town folks were flexible with us, as we needed to make a change, and they accommodated and were very responsive via email. Berlenga was beautiful. I am so glad we did this particular tour. There were 8 of us, which made the private group very enjoyable as we interacted with each other. Two of us were celebrating our birthday, and we took a group pic with cheers at one of the local shops. I was told in advance there was limited places to eat, etc, and that was true. But, both places were good. They did take credit cards. But, there is limited power, etc on the island, so I recommend having Euros just in case their machines are not working, etc. I highly recommend this tour. We had a smaller group, glass boat tour, and Nuno knew alot of the locals and navigated well. He also spoke multiple languages, speaking the preferred language to guests, but gave us our tour in English. Wonderful tour and a good value for the money. Please remember to tip the tour folks. Not necessary, but they appreciated it. Be well!My last day in Portugal has been amazing! Visited Berlenga Island. Began our boat ride in Peniche. It was about a 45-minute ride to Berlenga. My last day in Portugal has been amazing! Visited Berlenga Island. Began our boat ride in Peniche. It was about a 45-minute ride to Berlenga. I had been warned about rough seas to the islands and that many people would be sick, but we had a smooth ride. Started out chilly and foggy, but turned into a fantastic day. Our tour guide, Nuno Dias, did a great job and everyone in our tour group was super friendly. A definite grand finale on my trip. Highly recommend!!!Talking about nature and history of the island. We enjoyed the nice scenery without being disturbed by other turists - perfect timing.
