Exceptional English speaking guide! Very informative and fun! Going early was good to avoid some of the crowds. He spent time helping us navigate unexpected traffic at end. If you are short on time this is great option.

My girlfriend and I very much enjoyed the tour of the forbidden city! It started by walking through the Tiananmen Square, where Lucy gave us a lot of history of the country and the government that was relevant to the buildings around us. We then entered the Forbidden City and it’s really something you have to see for yourself! (As an added bonus with a Lucy we didn’t have to wait for security which easily saved 30 minutes). Lucy was constantly engaging us with history, stories, anecdotes, and much more. She also knew the best spots for pictures! It was a lot of walking and we didn’t want to stop! It was a day with temps in mid 30s and humidity around 60. We started at 10 am, from our hotel walking distance to Tienanmen. Jimmy was on time, cheerful, knowledgeable and had initiative. We'd not booked anything advance - not too big a risk in off-peak - but things were thrown slightly awry by peeps for 70th anniversary of the revolution around the square. We actually had a 4 hour tour and it was awesome. Our tour guide, Jimmy was perfect. He was very informative and helpful. We avoided long lines and learned so much. I would highly recommend this tour.
