On this personalized 60-minute horse-drawn carriage tour of Victoria, take a step back in time and experience the lush greenery of Beacon Hill Park, magnificent ocean views along the Salish Sea waterfront and historic beauty of Victoria's charming James Bay neighborhood.
Beacon Hill Park is a haven of serenity in the heart of the city with its immaculate flower gardens, tranquil duck ponds, children’s petting farm and areas of natural landscape. Donated to the city in 1858, the park has been preserved as a public space for generations, and remains a protected area for wildlife and native plants. Enjoy the highlights of the park from your carriage, before taking a scenic journey along the Salish Sea waterfront. Pass Mile Zero of the Trans-Canada Highway and experience stunning ocean views of the Olympic Mountain range in the United States. Return through the charming neighborhood of James Bay, hearing stories about the area's rich history and passing the birthplace of renowned artist, Emily Carr.
Each tour is personalized, with the right balance of historical information, local folklore and simple relaxation as you sit back and enjoy the clip-clop of your horse's hooves.

Four of us rode in the carriage, with Carol as our tour guide. It was a wonderful way to learn more about Victoria. The pickup/drop off location was very convenient, within walking distance of our hotel and on the harbor. We especially enjoyed the ride through Beacon Park and the interesting information our guide shared with us about points of interest during our ride. She made a special effort to speak loudly so we could hear and patiently answered our questions. It was also fun to see her interact with the horse. We all really enjoyed the experience. We took the one-hour ride ($215 CAD, not including tip). Our 6 and 7-year old kids loved the ride. We took the one-hour ride ($215 CAD, not including tip). Our 6 and 7-year old kids loved the ride. It went in front of The Parliament Buildings, Royal British Museum, through Beacon Hill Park, along the Juan de Fuca Straight, through many beautiful neighborhoods, etc. Randy allowed the kids to pet the horse and answered any questions we had. He also pointed out important points of interest. This was the first thing we did once arriving to Victoria and it was A GREAT introduction. We didn't have a reservation. They are staged/located to the West side of the Legislative Buildings.I went along, with low expectations, though our family had good reviews, and it was a very pleasant experience, helped by the beautiful day, and friendly people along the route. The only downside would be the price, which I thought for the off-season was too high.
