Stop At: Basel, Basel
This private tour takes you through the inner city area of Basel. The walking tour, combined with some short transfers by streetcar, will lead you to the theater, the city gate "Spalen", to the university area, the hidden alleyways on the upper market square and the town hall. Then you cross with a for Basel typical ferry to the other side of the Rhine river, before visiting the area of the minster church and it's viewing terrace.

We took a nice stroll around the old city with him pointing out significant highlights, such as the old city gate, the small alleyways, the river ferry etc. he also gave us a map with things to visit after the tour was over.

Overall this was a nice quick orientation to the inner city of Basel. The guide gave us a little history as we went along, and showed us how easy it is to use public transportation to navigate the city. We had a nice break in a little coffee shop. This is not a deep dive into the history of the city but a brief overview.Great guide (Michael) - prompt, informative, friendly and very much the gentleman. I'd suggest having the guide produce identification because we had no way of knowing it was Viatir guide other than he knew my name and guessed it was me waiting outside the hotel.
