My husband, and our 2 grown sons took this tour with Khalid. Make sure you arrive hungry! Khalid was the best tour guide! He answered all of our questions and gave us alot of information along the way about the foods, culture and the area. He was sensitive to our "not spicy" requests and made other arrangements, where needed. We loved walking around the Souk and seeing all of the different shops and goods that were offered. Meeting the owners and hanging with the locals gave this tour a special feel. The food was delicious and our guide was the best!! We all agreed that the favorite was the puffs with all the fillings.....YUMMY! You will not be disappointed if you take this tour. Enjoy! The food tour with my guide Yusuf was amazing! The food tour with my guide Yusuf was amazing! He explained in a very structured and engaging way the history of Bahrain and how Bahrain local food was shaped through it. He answered patiently to all my questions, and I felt he is my local friend which was priceless. We stopped at several local food places, all the food was so interesting and amazingly delicious and plentiful. You should plan to come hungry to this tour :) I would definitely recommend this tour as an absolute must to everyone visiting Bahrain, and I would absolutely go on it again on my next visit! Finding authentic, local cuisine in Bahrain can be a challenge for travelers unfamiliar with the city, and overwhelmed by the neon western chains. This food tour is a great way to get into some authentic, local Bahraini (and Indian) cuisine that you probably otherwise wouldn’t find. Yusuf is a fantastic guide - warm, welcoming, hospitable and speaks perfect English to help you navigate all the dishes in front of you. While we didn’t have any food allergies, he was also responsive and accommodating to folks that may have allergies/dietary restrictions. We toured a handful of restaurants, which offered an excellent cross section of local Bahrain and Indian restaurants, along with some Bahrain history and a few laughs mixed in along the way. If you’re looking for an authentic experience to get into Bahrain; it’s food and it’s culture a bit - highly recommend this food tour and Yusuf as a guide!Great food tour with an energetic and knowledgeable guide! More stops and foods than we imagined! Great history lesson as well! Highly recommend!

I loved digging into the local food culture at the Bahrain souq, and Yusuf was the perfect guide! He has spent some time in the US, where I'm from, so I appreciated his bigger view of the world and his ability to compare and contrast local practices and customs. He was spot on with communications pre-tour, and our time in the souq was delightful--come hungry, you will be stuffed after the many stops for delicious bites! Don't miss this opportunity to spend some time with a local learning about Bahrain, its food, the people and their lives. Yusuf is delightful to be with and is also happy to share information and tips about your visit to Bahrain.Yusuf and his team provide a lively and knowledgable guide to Bahraini history and culture through the different foods in Manama’s souq.
