If you are not fit you will not be able to do the full day. The hike to and from the waterfall is basically all stairs in the jungle. Stairmaster on steroids! You go down to the fall and climb back up after about an hour at the Fortuna waterfall which is epic. Bring water shoes. It is a bit slippery. You can change before you zip line. Next we zip lined, repelled down a cliff and climbed a ladder back up to finish zip lines. Then we horseback ride to the entrance and had lunch. No one else picked the all day tour so it was just my husband and I with 2 guides. Both of our guides were very nice, took photos for us. Sore the next day so don’t do another hiking tour if you aren’t used to all the steep hiking and pulling yourself up the ladder. We had a great time on this full day tour! Having had a taste of zipwires in the past, the opportunity for a ‘proper tour’ was very tempting, albeit with a good dose of apprehension. We also fancied a go at rappelling and visiting the Fortuna waterfall was a ‘must do’ on this trip. We booked the trip the night before through Tripadvisor as I struggled with the company website. Asking fir the 10-30 tour meant they had time to confirm that we would be picked up at our hotel, which occurred at exactly the time they said we would be. There was some confusion about what we needed to take with us and so we left a stack of stuff in a locker (not too sure what they wanted for this, but actually we didn’t pay anything as a guide sorted out the key. We needed zip wiring clothes. I would say long sleeved top and long trousers. Costume and towel if you want to swim in the waterfall pool. (A pleasant experience in a quieter part than others use, closer to the falls). You may want a snack, food is right at the end and you are doing a lot of steps. Taking a cellphone or tiny camera that you can secure to you when ‘flying’. Apply suntan lotion and insect repellent before you go. We did not use any and had no problems. Wear your swim costume under your clothes, rest rooms at the reception and on disembarking the tractor. Several stages to the day First collect the wristband for your style of trip. 1) photos or not? They looked good, but weren’t cheap 2) briefing about how to be safe on the wire, gentle reminders from the guides before each wire. 3) collect equipment 4) board the tractor to the start of the waterfall 5) significant descending walk to the waterfall with plenty if vegetation around to look at with 1 guide. 6) swim 7) back up all those steps 8) grab your zip wire equipment and be helped into it and meet the additional guide. 9) up more steps to the first wire. A couple of easy wires before longer ones with longer drops. 10) up to the rappell site beside the waterfall. 11) wait while the guides checked and double checked the equipment. 12) abseil down, climb the ladder snd steps back up 13) a few more wires 14) offload your zipwire equipment to one guide and be welcomed into the Molecku peoples’ concession where you could choose to buy handcrafts after a brief explanation of their way of life. 15) clamber onto your horse for a gentle amble down the hill 16) go to the cafe for your meal. Our guides Miguel and Stephanie were great. Miguel had lots of knowledge about the forest which was interesting to learn and with his help we saw more than we would have noticed alone. Stephanie with her beautifully decorated fingernails gave extra confidence; how hazardous could it be if you can keep such lovely nails? Our guides were positive and encouraging, but didn’t push us into or out of activities. I wanted to abseil, but was concerned about the long climb back up; no problem, I went down 30 meters, we waited whilst my husband went all the way down (and back up again!) Obviously the guides could have whipped round the course faster, but were happy for us to take all the photos we wanted of the scenery and each other. We wanted to be safe, we felt safe with professional guides operating in safe manner doing jobs they loved; both have worked there for 5 years. We pushed our boundaries and had wonderful memories from a wonderful day. This will be the day of our holidays that we want to tell our friends about and they will want to hear about!Overall a great experience and would recommend! Overall a great experience and would recommend! Staff was great and our guides Marco and Jeffrey were very experienced. We did the all day adventure which started at 8am and ended around 1230/1. We also got lucky because it was only the two of us in the group. 1. We started with the hike down to la fortuna falls. I recommend bringing a swim suit. I changed back into dry hiking clothes after 2. Then 6 or 7 zip lines 3. Repeled down to the base of a water fall and then climbed a ladder back up. This part was a little sketchy but we were strapped in 4. Then 6-7 more zip lines 5. Stopped by this aborigines hut were they had some demonstrations 6. Horse ride back down to where you start 7. Lunch You don't really need to bring water as they have water stations or wallet (you could buy souvenirs from the aborigines hut but pay later at the main reception). Don't really need a backpack either unless you wanted to carry your swimwear and towel). Overall, my girlfriend and I had a great time and it was worth the cost.
