Our Lofton Creek Kayak Tour is a calm, blackwater channel that meanders through the forested wetlands of Yulee, Florida.
Stop At: Lofton Creek, Yulee, FL 32097, USA
A primordial waterway, Lofton Creek features water that is dark in color, created by the tannins which leach into the water as vegetation decays. Replete with bald cypress, sweet gum, and rare flowers like pickerelweed and wild azaleas, this unique ecosystem is reminiscent of an old south bayou – brackish water teeming with unique plants, animals, and reptiles. Native Americans most likely fished these waters and cultivated the land for thousands of years before the Spanish, French, and English arrived in the mid-16th century.

What a great way to discover Amelia Island! Our guide, Rachel, is simply the best. Our group was a nice mix, pre-schoolers to seniors, and a nice size so we had lots of room to maneuver down Lofton Creek. The kayaks and life vests were very clean. Rachel learned our names immediately and engaged us in conversation as we paddled down the creek, pointing out turtles, small gators, and native plants. Her knowledge and positive attitude made the trip so enjoyable; plus, she took pictures of us in our kayaks! I highly recommend this experience.Had a nice relaxing time enjoying nature and easy kayaking with really calm water while also learning a bit of Florida.

Made the trip fun and educational. I would definitely recommend this tour. First time our family had ever been kayaking. A lot of fun will do it again. I know Rachel has never seen anyone run into as many trees as I did!

Guides were great, so kind , very informative.We loved every minute of the excursion. My 15 year old daughter was able to navigate the creek well. It is a full 2 hours of paddling. We saw an alligator, two turtles and a bald eagle. The guides are excellent. It was a fun experience.
