All Inclusive Private Safari in Minneriya National Park
Overview
If you are traveling during the gathering season which is from July to September we can surely show you more than 100 elephants during this experience. Sometimes you might lucky enough to spot around 400 elephants.
This experience will also give you the chances to spot some other animal species as well.
We will offer you bottled water and a small snack along with a drink during the Safari.

What to expect
Itinerary
2.00 P.M – Pick-Up from your hotel at Habarana, Sigiriya, Dambulla, or Main Entrance of Minneriya National Park or Habarana Junction.
2.30 P.M – Begin your game drive at Minneriya National Park.
5.30 P.M to 6.00 P.M – Finishing time of your Safari.
6.30 P.M – Drop you off to the place that we have picked you up.
We will offer you bottled water and a small snack along with a drink during the Safari.
The Annual, Largest Gathering of Asian Elephants
This is the National Park which happens the world famous Largest Gathering of Asian Elephants. During the dry season (From July to September) elephants are gathered on the banks of Minneriya tank at evening hours, so you can spot some more elephants specially during this period of the year. As elephants are only active during evening hours in these areas this evening safari will give you better chances to spot these wild animals.

Foods – Adult elephant can eat up to 300 pounds of foods per.day
Elephants require about 68.4 to 98.8 L (18 to 26 gal.) of water daily, but may consume up to 152 L (40 gal.). An adult male elephant can drink up to 212 L (55 gal.) of water in less than five minutes.

This was a fantastic trip that exceeded my expectations. Our guide Samira was very knowledgeable and he was very sensitive to when we wanted to stop and watch or to move on. The scenery was very open and beautiful and the elephants were amazing- we saw over 100 in several groups. Samira also spotted many different animals and birds such as langur, purple faced monkey, eagle, kingfisher and storks, that we would not have otherwise seen. We also saw many elephants during the safari in Kaudulla National Park and I was very happy that my guide stopped at great spots so I could enjoy the scenery (and take some amazing photos, of course). He also knew when it was time to go back and to leave the elephants alone (a thunderstorm came up) which I really appreciated.
