What to expect
Day before tracking you will be welcomed by Heavens holiday resort kandy. (2 night half board accommodation included for the package).after you will be accommodate over night there and next morning 7.30 am you will be pickup for the tracking.
Around 9.30 A.M, Start trekking up to the Knuckles summit on a trail through tea plantation, pygmy forest, cloud forests, and plateau with grassland. Endemic birds, mammals, fresh water creatures in crystal clear water streams. Enjoy the panoramic view at the Knuckles Summit with all around the jungle. Around 01. P.M Have picnic lunch and walk back to the place where vehicle parked. Back to Kandy in the evening around 5 to 6.00 P.M and over night stay at Heavens holiday resort kandy.

My partner and I opted for the 2 night accomodation package with the one day hike by Rondo Knuckles. To begin with, the hotel is very hospitable, going out of their way to assist us with any request. Super friendly and inviting, it's run by a family who clearly know how to make you feel at home. Shout out to the son who took care of us throughout the stay and his friend! Also a shout out to his mother who cooked each breakfast and dinner - great opportunity to eat real local cuisine. Simply delicious! The guide from the hike, Charlie is a friend of the family and knows his stuff inside out! We trekked 6 hours through the jungle, rice and tea fields and also swam beside 2 waterfalls. Charlie is super knowledgeable about the region, animals, birds and vegetation. We saw everything from Sri-Lanka's national bird to Kingfisher birds, chameleons, Hornet's nests and tasted many spices along the way such as pepper and cloves. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to better understand the local culture and have a relaxing stay in the meantime.We did a daytrip up in the Knuckles Range and it was soooo nice. Charlie is a proffessional and funny guide and we enjoyed our day to the fullest. We learned a lot about the nature and the culture. I can highly recommend his tour!

In two days I saw a lot of things, so I highly recommand Shalika as guide,don't hesitate!!We did a 2 days trip with the whole family in the Knuckles mountain which remains one of the great moment we had in Sri Lanka. Shalika is a great guide who knows perfectly well the mountain and who can adapt the rando according to the level of the people he is guiding.

Attentif aux besoins de chacun, ces 2 jours ont été une super expérience que je recommande vivement. Merci encore Charlie !
