Stop At: Tongass National Forest, Ketchikan, AK
Explore the mysterious waters surrounding the Tongass National Forest as we search for wildlife aboard a rugged Zodiac expedition craft. With an experienced captain and expert naturalist as your guide, you will encounter the vibrant ecosystem of Southeast Alaska which is home to a variety of wildlife including Salmon, Harbor Seals, Dall’s Porpoise, Bears, Bald Eagles, Steller Sea Lions, Killer Whales (Orca), and Humpback Whales. While we can’t guarantee any specific wildlife encounters, we believe that with the experience of our crew, and the quiet unobtrusive vessels we have selected as exploration platforms, there is a good chance of experiencing something truly magnificent. Beyond the possibility of wildlife, viewing the breathtaking wilderness of SE Alaska from an open Zodiac is a unique way to explore the area. Let's go out to sea!

Delaney rearranged their schedule to squeeze us in the day I arrived which turned out to be the only day that would have worked. It was my favorite activity of the trip! It was cool but refreshing. They had gear to keep us from getting wet. The couple in our group that had motion sickness issues were fine and had a great time! Got to see seals and eagles including a fledgling. We learned all about the area’s history and geography. The highlight was the half hour we spent with a bubble feeding humpback! What a way to start your visit in Ketchikan! This expedition was one of the highlights of our trip. The wind was chilly, the ocean dark and choppy and we had the time of our lives! This expedition was one of the highlights of our trip. The wind was chilly, the ocean dark and choppy and we had the time of our lives! Delaney and Eric were the perfect guides and I personally was amazed by their extensive knowledge of the local wildlife. We were shocked and delighted when a whale jumped up to feed mere yards from our boat. We would take this tour again and again because I am sure that the experience is different every time.We arrived via cruise ship and booked this excursion ourselves for our Ketchikan stop. We arrived via cruise ship and booked this excursion ourselves for our Ketchikan stop. Soon after booking Delaney took the time to explain that our ship would be pulling in at Ward Cove (vs parking in Ketchikan as the ships have in the past) and explained how we would get to town and how to find them for our tour. MUCH better communication than the cruise company and we were so grateful! They even adjusted the start time to allow us time to get there. The tour itself was amazing! There were only 4 of us, plus Delaney and Eric, and it was nice to have such a small group. We saw several bubble net feeding humpback whales. Eric clearly had extensive knowledge of their behavior as he was able to put us in position to see them come up over and over. They were awesome. We also saw seals, eagles and other marine wildlife. Delaney also explained several animal behaviors and clearly had significant knowledge of the wildlife. Both Delaney and Eric were a pleasure to spend our day with and we'll absolutely look them up when we come back to Ketchikan! We saw Humpback whales, harbor seals, and a nest of mature and young bald eagles! The guide and boat driver were very knowledgeable and kind. :- )

The tour was awesome - one of our favorite parts of the trip to Alaska. It was just our family (one group) on the tour: We were 4 people ranging from 15 to 73 years old - everyone had a great time! The guides were very nice and knowledgeable. We had a really interesting conversation, and learned a lot about Ketchikan, and Alaska in general. During our tour we spotted a whale, and we were even able to get relatively close to it. We also spotted other wildlife: Different bird species, salmon, and deer. The guides also had a thermos with some hot drinks (tea, hot chocolate), and snack :-)We had an amazing zodiac tour with Delaney and Eric., the owners of the company. They provided all of the waterproof clothing, boots, dry bags, caps, even binoculars so we were warm enough and very comfortable. Both of them are very knowledgeable and good communicators. We had an amazing zodiac tour with Delaney and Eric., the owners of the company. They provided all of the waterproof clothing, boots, dry bags, caps, even binoculars so we were warm enough and very comfortable. Both of them are very knowledgeable and good communicators. We learned a lot about this area of Alaska, the fishing industry, and saw whales, bald eagles, sea otters, and a sea lion along with cormorants and murres. along with gorgeous scenery.. They also provided snacks and hot drinks as energy boosters. It was a great activity during our stay.
