The installations are beautiful. Nice pools and clean rooms. The beach its dirty, (playa herradura), dark, murky water. Unsure if its naturally that way, or if its from the many boats at the marina. The installations are beautiful. Nice pools and clean rooms. The beach its dirty, (playa herradura), dark, murky water. Unsure if its naturally that way, or if its from the many boats at the marina. The food is expensive and mediocre. The restaurant and pool staff need retraining. The service in both is unfortunately less than poor. I ordered a drink by the pool from one of the waiters who said he would get the other girl to take my order.... the other girl never came... 40 minutes later I told the waiter I wasn't served. He proceeded to tell me the pool bar was now closed. However, he was going to do me a favor and get me a drink... really? He's going to do ME a favor... unbelievable!! The dinner experience was even worse... we decided to go the the bar which had open seating over looking the ocean. We were seated and waited close to 30 minutes and no came to even acknowledge our presence there, let alone take our order... After 30 minutes we got up and left,. No one even noticed it, they didn't care. The next day we decided to give them another try. Again could not get a waiter to take our order. We spoke to a staff member at the resort who simply said he wasn't part of the pool bar and that we needed to wait for someone to come to us... after almost an hour wait we were able to place an order for nachos and 2 drinks... we were served and never saw the waiter again for the rest of the afternoon. This is not the level of service I'm used to from Marriott Resorts. I own a time share in Aruba and have visited many, many Marriott resorts around the world. And I have to say that Los Suenos in Costa Rica doesn't meet Marriott standards. I wont be going back. They need to retrain their staff and possibly their management as its allowing this behavior and service to continue. There are many other hotels in the area, competition is vicious. But for some reason the staff at Los Suenos dont seem to be concerned. Stay anywhere else, but here. You'll be dissatisfied. I stayed from friday February 19 thought Sunday the 21st.Such an amazing experience! Our flight was delayed and we were in customs for 3 hours-we were so afraid that our driver left us. Instead we found Martin smiling with our names ready to take us to our destination! We were starving and he stopped at an amazing restaurant for food. We needed groceries and he stopped at the Mercado! Such kindness and patience! Thank you Eric and Martin for such an amazing experience! He checked in with us throughout the week and made good recommendations on what to do in CR.
