The original elephant section of the park was proclaimed in 1931, when only eleven elephants remained in the area. Today this finely-tuned ecosystem is home to one of the densest elephant populations on earth, with over 600 elephant, lion, buffalo, the endangered black rhino, spotted hyena, leopard, a variety of antelope and zebra species, as well as the unique Addo flightless dung beetle, found almost exclusively in Addo. The park can exclusively claim to be the only national park in the world to conserve the “Big 7” – the Big 5 as well as the southern right whale and great white shark off the Algoa Bay coast.

Had a fantastic Christmas Day with King Elvis as the guide on this tour. We didn’t find the lions but we saw probably 200+ elephants including many babies, plus lots of other exciting encounters. Highly recommend this tour!

Highly recommend this tour!For me the highlight was the staff at Aforventures and just to single out the forever smiling and very patient tourguide Mawethu whom we did both E-bikes and a full-day Addo tour with. Mawethu arrived earlier than expected to pick us up at the hotel, and he prepared us a very nice braai for lunch...

I'd recommend Afroventures to anyone traveling down to PE and would like to explore it.I genuinely enjoined my experience with Afroventures to Addo Elephant National Park. I got all the experience I had wished for a more, seeing the animals and nature was a wonderful journey also enjoyed the picnic lunch. I would recommend locals and tourist to travel with Afroventures
