Christ the Redeemer

A visit to the Cristo Redentor monument by Morro do Corcovado! The statue of Christ the Redeemer is one of the greatest symbols of the State of Rio de Janeiro, undoubtedly the best known worldwide as one of the 7 wonders, it is present in all representations of the Marvelous City. Inaugurated on October 12, 1931, on the day of Our Lady of Aparecida, Cristo Redentor is a statue of reinforced concrete and soapstone 30 meters high, not counting the 8 meters of the pedestal, and its arms stretch for an incredible 28 meters wide.

The statue weighs 1145 tons and is the third largest sculpture of Jesus Christ in the world.

The Staircase is a world famous spot and attracts countless visitors of all nationalities every day. The Pão de Açúcar is a complex of hills located in the neighborhood of Urca, in the city of Rio. In it, visitors can enjoy the walk through the famous Cable Car of the Sugarloaf Mountain that connects Praia Vermelha in Urca and the Sugarloaf Mountain, idealized in 1908 and opened in 1912, the Bondinho was the third cable car to be opened in the world and the first in Brazil.
