Stop At: Medenine, Medenine, Medenine Governorate
Medenine is the prefecture of the region, a governorate, which Djerba also depends on. With its Ksour and Ghorfas, these semicylindrical storehouses, whose early constructions date back to the 17th century, Medenine is also the starting point for visiting the region.
Duration: 30 minutes
Stop At: Ksar Ghilane, Ksar Ghilane, Kebili Governorate
The most southern of Tunisian oases Ksar Ghilane is one of the doors of the desert of the Tunisian Sahara, the oasis is fed by a source of hot water, source from a failed oil drilling in 1953, instead of finding oil the drillers found a captive water table 700 m deep. The water flows to the surface at 32 °, it is very sulfur, you can swim there, it would have thermal virtues.
You can also do a camel ride or quad.

Stop At: Tisavar, Tunisia
Tisavar is a rectangular construction, the walls, built in stone to a height of 1.50 m, in smaller rubble above. It served as an advanced post and base camp for their Saharan expeditions. it also allowed to control the caravans that carried their wealth to the coast.
The old building is then occupied in the Middle Ages, before being restored by the French during the Second World War, the fort served in the column Leclerc during the maneuver bypassing the line Mareth.

Une magnifique escapade aux portes du désert. Ksar Ghilane est magnifique avec sa palmeraie et surtout sa source d'eau chaude. La courte promenade en dromadaire dans les dunes (non comprise) était très dépaysante. Le repas servi sur place était simple mais très bon et copieux. Mention très spéciale à notre guide qui nous a fait découvrir un aperçu de la culture Berbère et nous a raconté d'innombrables anecdotes, sans oublier quelques touches 'africaines' inoubliables 🙂. La brève visite du site où a été tourné quelques plans de Star Wars est un beau petit plus pour les fans.quinzelaire

Une semaine de tranquillité et de calme! Hôtel pas trop grand, vaste chambre accueillante et confortable. Personnel agréable, aimable et dévoué, ambiance familiale, restauration simple mais suffisante et assez variée. Locaux et jardins entretenus et propres au quotidien. 2ème piscine à l'écart p...

Personnel agréable, aimable et dévoué, ambiance familiale, restauration simple mais suffisante et assez variée. Locaux et jardins entretenus et propres au quotidien. 2ème piscine à l'écart pour être au calme. Bref un 3* (pas cher) pour les amateurs de simplicité, qui ne se prennent pas la tête et aiment se laisser "vivre" au gré de la douceur et des charmes de cette île.doroth_ea2017

Après avoir traversé quelques villages et emprunté la route romaine un dépaysement total , de multiples arrêts par notre chauffeur guide pour immortaliser ces paysages sans oublier des explications très appréciées sur l’histoire . Arrivée à Ksar Ghilane avec cette mer du Sahara immense , magnifique et calme Une petite balade en dromadaire dans le désert et ensuite détente dans les sources chaudes ( 38 degrés) et pour finir la matinée un très bon couscous . Au retour visite du site starwars ( où Skywalker était petit) sans oublier la vue Le lac de sel . Une journée bien remplie de nouvelles découvertes. Merciiii à notre chauffeur- guide Makhouf sans qui cette journée n’aurait pas été aussi enrichissantecharlotj430
