What to expect
This is a typical itinerary for this product
Stop At: Seljalandsfoss, Hella Iceland
Then turn back west along the coastal road at the foot of Eyjafjallajokull volcano and make a stop at Seljalandsfoss waterfall.
This beautiful column of water tumbles off the cliffs and you have the possibility of walking around behind the falls and through the spray,
so be sure to bring your waterproofs, as you might get wet. This is saved this stop for last, as getting wet at the end of the day is much
better than starting the day wet.
Stop At: Skogafoss, Skogar Iceland
The first stop is the powerful Skogafoss waterfall with its 60 metre (200ft) drop and formidable spray. On sunny days, the waterfall often
has a rainbow to add to the view
Stop At: Solheimajokull Glacier, Vik Iceland
Wonderful glacier and ocean view over the powerful Sólheimajökull glacier.
Duration: 30 minutes
Stop At: Reynisfjara Beach, Route 215, Vik Iceland
After exploring the edge of the ice, we walk back to the bus and drive a little farther east to Reynisfjara black sand beach which is near to
the village of Vik and Dyrholaey headland. Make a stop of around 1 hour at Reynisfjara which boasts a spectacular black sand beach,
basalt columns and cliffs, sea stacks and in summer between May and August there are often puffins roosting and nesting on the grassy
ledges along the cliffs. The beach also has a nice café where you will also be able to get some lunch.

There were just 13 of us and we were all made to feel very welcome by Siggi our driver. The whole trip was amazing, the sights were stunning and Siggi was both informative and knowledgeable as well as providing very humorous commentary along the way. I personally preferred this to the Golden Circle tour we had done the day before with our holiday tour operator (it was included in our package holiday). Booking with Horizon was also cheaper than booking the same excursion with the large holiday operators (Tui in our case). The fact you are on a small bus makes the whole experience more personal, Would highly recommend this tour to anyone. My best day and memory from Iceland! Beautiful sites and fantastic guide/driver of the minibus. Native Englishman living on Iceland, so excellent language and knowledge. Highlight was the black beach with all the puffins.

Our driver and guide, Ziggy, has a lot of energy and is passionate about his home. He is also a great driver, avoiding a close call when another tour driver took an unexpected turn in front of our bus! His humor was evident throughout the day, especially when we took a slight detour to the side of the road to see a very interesting phenomenon, Mother of Pearl Clouds! Black sand beach, waterfalls, glacier, and frozen tundra - beautiful landscape and fun day.So glad we booked the small group tour rather than a 90 seater bus. BK, our driver, was knowledgeable, informative and possesed a very dry sense of humour. e.g "on our left side you can see a whole lot of........nothing" The tour is a long day (8.30am pick up, arrived back into Reykjavik 6.45pm) but so worth it. Every element was dramatic from the black sand beach to the glacier walk and the Skogafoss waterfall. The final waterfall, Seljalandfoss, although impressive felt a little unnecessary as by then, 4.30pm, we had virtually no light and we personally were starting to tire. An absolute must see tour an we highly recommend Horizon IcelandI booked through Viator and they stated that the pickup would be in my hostel. I booked through Viator and they stated that the pickup would be in my hostel. The day of the tour I received an email (I had not roaming in my cellphone in Iceland) at 8:25 am saying that I needed to go to a 7 minutes walk bus station for the pickup at 8:30 am ! ! ! !... I replied that I was waiting in the hostel because it was stated that way and I needed to walk to that bus station. Lucky for me they came back around 8:45 am to pick me up. After that little complain, I have to say that the tour was wonderful and it worth every single euro I paid for. Our guide (Gunna) was very helpful and provide us with a lot of information. I took the tour in december, lucky for us the weather was nice and the five hours of day light were enough to enjoy all the sights in th south shore.
