Phi Phi Island Tour’s first glimpse of magic - Maya Bay
Phi Phi Maya Bay has been a "must sightseeing location" for hordes of Thailand tourists for decades and as such, has suffered from its overuse. Thankfully the National Park prohibited from 2018 to the end of 2021, any boat from dropping anchor in the bay and alighting at the beach, to allow the gorgeous coral island treasures, wildlife and environment time to recover. At Simba, you will be one of the first boats to arrive and this awe inspiring bay to enjoy placing the first footprints of the day into it's fine white sand.
Duration: 1 hour
Stop At: Pileh Bay, Ko Phi Phi Lee Thailand
The tour’s emerald crown, Pileh Lagoon - Tide Dependent
Our next port of call on our sunrise tour, if tide allows, is Pileh Lagoon before the crowds arrive. It is a spectacular emerald green lagoon surrounded by high limestone cliffs on 3 sides, one of the world's most gorgeous natural swimming pools. Grab your action camera and film or take a photo of the extremely spectacular view of the emerald waters merging with the caves and the blue clear horizon.
Duration: 40 minutes
Stop At: Monkey Beach, Ko Phi Phi Don Thailand
Phi Phi Islands have their secrets - Macaque Monkeys and the Viking Cave
During the tour, we will stop by one of the local beaches for a viewing of the monkey troops. For our own safety, we stay on the boat whilst viewing these cute Long-tailed Macaques on the monkey beach. For animal lovers, this is one of the most featured moments of the tour!
The Viking Cave is home to the special Birds’ Nests used to make Birds Nest Soup. It is not possible to enter this enormous cave but we will show you from the outside and you can witness the armed guards guarding the birds' nests from looters!
Duration: 10 minutes
Stop At: Viking Cave, Ko Phi Phi Don Thailand
Experience the Phi Phi Islands from underwater - 1st Snorkeling Stop
It is now time to explore the magical underwater world with some swimming and snorkeling during our speedboat tour.
We supply all your snorkeling equipment including fins and flotation aids such as life jackets and swim noodles. The staff are always there (in and out of the water) ready to help any first timers with encouragement, advice and sometimes just a helping hand throughout the day tour.
In around Phi Phi waters, we are regularly visited by Whale Sharks, Dolphins, Whales and Reef Sharks. If you're lucky we may see these on tour!

Great tour with many stops. Highlights were Maya Beach and Pileh Lagoon - I believe a lot quieter than usual so a great time to come, not at all crowded. Good food during the trip & lovely staff.

This was the highlight of my Thailand trip - maybe even of all trips that I’ve taken! The early start may be daunting for some, but it’s definitely worth it as you’re one of the first to arrive to the famous Maya Beach (now open again for tourists after several years of closures due to beach repairs). We visited in May 2022 and visitors are not allowed to go into the actual water to swim, as there are a breed of sharks that have begun to come back and take over the water (as I understood it). We saw the baby sharks so close to the shoreline as they were feasting on a giant school of fish! Really incredible experience. Each stop is absolutely stunning. I have never seen anything so beautiful in my entire life! The water out here is fantastically clear - and shimmering emerald green. Beautiful white sand beaches which are clear of debris and other trash you may see in other beaches throughout Thailand. The water is so warm too - you won’t feel cold at all. It’s the perfect temperature. The variety of locations and activities kept me and my husband entertained the entire time - we had our first snorkeling experience during this excursion and couldn’t get enough of it. You’ll see plenty of wildlife - in the water and out. Our main tour guide, Jane, was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly - along with the other crew staff! They all made sure you had everything you needed. Their hospitality was an added highlight to the tour. We had about 8-10 other individuals in our own speed boat, with the full group being split into two boats. It never felt like we were crowded or didn’t have enough space - believe me, the beaches and water are large enough for all :) Going from their office location in Phuket to Maya Bay was about 1 hour on speed boat. I had a nice nap on that trip lollll. They provide you with most equipment you need for snorkeling - goggles, fins (if desired). Just bring a towel! You may also want to bring your own toilet paper - there’s a small bathroom on the boat, but TP can be sparse and there was none at the bathrooms at Maya Bay. They also offer a light breakfast at the office and at Maya, with a delicious lunch stop of Thai food around 12/1pm. If you need, they also have various first aid items - sea sickness meds, bug spray, etc. Definitely recommend using bug spray liberally AND sunscreen. You will get toasted. All in all - I would do this excursion over and over again if I could. We had the best experience and easily saw this as our favorite day in Thailand. Thank you Simba Sea Trips! We loved it!!An absolutely fantastic experience all around, from the hotel transfers to the breathtaking scenery and activities. An absolutely fantastic experience all around, from the hotel transfers to the breathtaking scenery and activities. The early start is immediately justified as you cruise out of the impressive Royal Phuket Marina to view the sun rising over the outline of the Thai Mainland and archipelago, before speeding off to Maya Bay. The pre-dawn wake up call is made even more worthwhile as you take in the crowd-free awe-inspiring view of the white sands and turquoise waters set to the magnificent limestone cliff background. From here you get plenty of chances to swim and snorkel with some of the most beautiful tropical sea life while taking in the breathtaking scenery. There is plenty of food and drink on offer to keep you satisfied and hydrated throughout, and a nice Thai style lunch feels well deserved after the morning activities. Head off to another island to sit back and relax, or take in a bit more snorkelling before setting off for home. For us the pacing and timing of activities was exactly on-point and being back at our hotel for 3pm topped off a perfect day. Last, and definitely not least, the tour guide and captains were terrific. Informative, fun, friendly, and attentive. They took care of all of our needs (they even made me a make-shift hat as I insisted on sitting at the front of the boat in the strong sun), and were clearly very conscious of the environment, making sure we left no rubbish or damaged our surroundings. A 10/10 experience that I highly recommend.Amazing trip with premium service from start to finish. The whole trip was fantastic - beautiful, stunning locations at a good pace and with a great crew and guide. Would highly recommend and the early start is definitely worth it to experience some of the stops with far less crowds.

Every part of the trip is beautiful and going early is one of the most important aspects. You get to see the popular spots before the crowds show up. Our guides were also very friendly and helped us spot interesting fish while snorkeling. Highly recommended.

We were the last outing before they closed. Seeing the fish so close was outstanding.
