Day 1: Kampala - Ziwa- Murchison Falls NP
Stop At: Rhino Fund Uganda, Gulu Highway Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, Nakitoma Uganda
Enter the territory of the southern white rhinos on foot. Well-trained rangers will guide you through the bush to where the rhinos are on the day of your visit.
Duration: 2 hours
Stop At: Paraa Masindi, Murchison Falls National Park Uganda
You will hike to the top of the magnificent Murchison falls. This is joined with a boat cruise on the Nile to the base of the falls. The boat leaves you at the base and you head for a 45 minute guided hike (physically fit person), while on this hike you will have a great time watching rolling hills, vegetation types, birds, and you will keep hearing the thunderous roars of the falls. When you are at the top it’s a great time to watch the Nile make its way through rocks 8m wide hence forming a 45m fall as it falls down to continue with its course.
Duration: 3 hours

We did a 4 day trip to Kidepo Valley National Park. We did 2 gamedrives in the National Park and the other days we visited a Karamojong tribe in Kotido and did a nature walk in Moroto. So a lot of variety in one trip. The driver was really nice and we had a good time with our group of nine. The drive up north is really long and the road is not so good, we spent almost 2 of the 4 days driving. So I would recommend to take the trip for at least 4 days, not less. I found it a very special experience meeting the Karamojong people, it's really interesting to learn about how they live. I really recommend this trip!Yako organized a four day trip to the northern part of Uganda for us. This included the Kidepo valley national park and a visit to a Karamojong village. We saw all necessary things to gain a complete image of that part of Uganda. Although we were traveling on a budget, yako made sure we stayed at the best places possible. The trip was very well organized and I can recommend it to everyone! For our internship we went to Kampala and got in touch with Yako Africa to organise trips in the weekends. For our internship we went to Kampala and got in touch with Yako Africa to organise trips in the weekends. They offer good group prices for safaris in lake Mburo and Murchison Falls. Also, you are able to adjust the trip to your own demands. We got fully informed by Yako so we could decide about which activities to do and which places to sleep. In lake Mburo we had one of the best stays because of the amazing view with good food included. Here we did a mountainbiketour, we expected this to be in the park but at the end this was outside the park. This was a bit of a surprise but we enjoyed ourselves anyway. We had a good stay in Murchison as well. The drivers were good and they took a lot of effort to see as much animals as we could. Also, the touringcar offers a lot of space and the roof can go up which gives you the opportunity to sit in the back or front for the best view on the animals. I would definitely recommend Yako Africa, these trips were truly unique experiences which I will never forget. We went with 9 people and the weekend was just one of the best experiences I had in Uganda! The trip was well arranged however maybe the lunch on the way can be discussed with the group, for example to get streetfood to be faster and cheaper. We had a great time on our safari! Our driver had a very comfortable truck, so although the ride was long it was pleasant. Our driver Emma made sure everything happened smoothly. We did a rhino trekking as well, during which we got to see a rhino family from up close. The accomodation at murchison falls was very good as well, with delicious meals for a good price and friendly personnel. During the first game drive Emma arranged for a ranger to go with us, who gave some more information. During the second game drive we had no ranger unfortunately. Still, we managed to see a lot of animals including a hyena and a large group of animals. Sometimes we had to wait long to see animals, but the beautiful nature made up for that. All in all, we had an amazing weekend! We went on a three day safari to Murchison Falls and it was truly amazing. Everything was well organized and we enjoyed every minute of it. The park is extremely beautiful and we saw a lot of animals. Martin was a very friendly tourguide and a good driver too. We had a blast!
