Diamond Head/Waikiki Tour
Overview
We then glide along around the Honolulu Zoo – and might even catch a glimpse of a giraffe or zebra – and around historic Kapiolani Park, created by King Kalakaua and stockholders originally as an exclusive residential district that included a horse track in 1876. It was named for Queen Kapiolani, King Kalakaua’s wife.
We then glide up Diamond Head Road – riding the ‘face’ of Diamond Head Crater and take in the stunning estates as you approach the historic Diamond Head Lighthouse and the Amelia Earhart Lookout. We arrive the lookout with its panoramic views of Koko Head Crater, Molokai and Maui Islands in the distance, and the surfers below and the Leeward Coast of Oahu. We then pick up the Queens Beach Promenade gliding to the Duke Statue at the end.

It’s the best way to see a lot in hot weather without sweating your head off. After a careful and thorough training session from our excellent guide Michael, we were off and laughing our way up Diamond Head. The views were spectacular and the breeze blowing through your hair was just perfect. We learned so much about the area from Michael who obviously has a heap of local and historical knowledge. Our family of four recommends this experience to anyone who is looking for a fun and cool way to learn about this beautiful place. In fact, we liked it so much, we are planning to incorporate a Segway of Hawaii tour into a Big Island visit next year. Mahalo Michael, and mahalo Segway of Hawaii.Riding a Segway was not in our plans while in Waikiki. But, while walking to beach from our hotel, we saw the Segway store. Riding a Segway was not in our plans while in Waikiki. But, while walking to beach from our hotel, we saw the Segway store. What better way to see Waikiki and Diamond Head than on a Segway? What made our trip even better was our guide, Rosanna! She was super patient with new riders, knowledgeable about the area, super polite to everyone around her, humorous, and just downright pleasant! My last tour on a Segway didn’t offer the headset & mic like this one. It was great to be able to hear everything Rosanna was telling us and for us to be able to ask questions and chime in. The sites on this route are stunning! The parks, beaches, cliffs, historical places, etc. we’re just incredible! Not thinking the trip could get any better, I was blown away when Rosanna’s schedule allowed her to take us to the cruise terminal. (She has another gig with a ride share company.) What perfect timing! Rosanna was great with the Segway tour, but also continued to explain more on our trip to the ship. If you’re looking for a different, but fun, way to see Waikiki, I’d recommend taking this Segway tour! Be sure to ask for Rosanna while you’re there. You won’t be disappointed!due to unusual circumstances, i had the honor and privilege of a 1-1 tour. manager sy fields is very knowledgeable (referring a number of times to his research into actual facts about the area) and accommodating, and showed tolerance for this old lady's individual needs and riding style. the tour...
due to unusual circumstances, i had the honor and privilege of a 1-1 tour. manager sy fields is very knowledgeable (referring a number of times to his research into actual facts about the area) and accommodating, and showed tolerance for this old lady's individual needs and riding style. the tour included glorious settings, beautiful homes, and wonderful insights about the area. this experience was a must-do during my visit to hawaii, and it exceeded my expectations. thank you, sy and segway of hawaii! This was a really enjoyable tour. This was a really enjoyable tour. We've done segways before in a few cities in Europe. This one was a nice addition to our experiences. You get out for a nice long ride from Honolulu around to the far side of Diamond Head and get to enjoy some beautiful scenery and learn some interesting facts about Hawaii and its history. Our tour guide was very friendly and knowledgeable and provided just the right mix of stopping at landmarks and sharing some history or facts and riding so you get to see more and enjoy the ride. This was the first one we have done where the guide had a wireless communication system (you wear an earpiece), and that was really nice because she could continue to share little facts and information about what we were passing without having to stop and gather round the guide to hear. Highly recommeneded! What a great experience ... from the training session through to our return to base at the Marriott location. Our guide, Michael, is local and therefore has the inside track! What a great experience ... from the training session through to our return to base at the Marriott location. Our guide, Michael, is local and therefore has the inside track! He is so knowledgeable and interesting he made the tour very very enjoyable. I can hardly say we were experts, but it didn’t take long to feel comfortable handling the Segway. GO FOR IT!!What a great way to see different parts of the city. We spent our last day in Honolulu unexpectedly so we decided to try the Segway Tours. So glad we did. Mike did a great job showing us around and explaining the history to us.
