Overview
During this tour in the Dominican Republic, you’ll have the chance to visit Cueva de Berna, located in the east side of the country, between Boca de Yuma town and the East National Park (Parque Nacional del Este). This cavern is a natural wonder of great historical-archaeological interest, decorated with beautiful stalagmites and stalactites, and boasting on its walls and floors an extensive system of around 300 red-colored petroglyphs of the pre-Columbian era.
Later, you’ll make your way to the magical village of Altos de Chavon, in La Romana. This ancient Mediterranean-style jewel, surrounded by cobbled streets and buildings of coral stone and terracotta blocks, is also known as the "City of Artists" as on more than one occasion, served as a source of inspiration for several film directors. Other of the most eye-catching feature in Altos de Chavon is its open-air amphitheater, inaugurated by Frank Sinatra in 1982.

We bought this Nexus excursion while still on the Sunwing plane. The literature noted how many hours were the 'activity' of the excursion versus being transported on buses. The majority of this excursion is on a bus going various places, which was not what the literature on the plane conveyed, so...
We bought this Nexus excursion while still on the Sunwing plane. The literature noted how many hours were the 'activity' of the excursion versus being transported on buses. The majority of this excursion is on a bus going various places, which was not what the literature on the plane conveyed, so if you dont feel like spending most of a day on the bus then this isn't the excursion for you. We saw interesting things (a large cave, momentarily stopped at a couple of small villages, a lookout over a village, and a large modern basilica in Higuey that frankly looks like a concrete monstrosity), but mostly travelling on a bus was not what I expected from the excursion information, so this was disappointing.Pranav161

Had an awesome time with my sister and daughter. They made my daughter day with lots of laughter n happy birthday songs. Jeison from la saona made it all the special for her n us. Def would recommend going. The beach was BEAUTIFUL the people are great. Very well mannered love love love them
