Aposelemis Dam is an earthen embankment dam on the Aposelemis River near the villages of Potamies and Avdou, 32 kilometers (20 mi) southeast of Heraklion, Greece. The dam is the largest water management project in Crete. It creates Aposelemis lake, a reservoir that serves as the primary fresh water supply for the cities of Heraklion and Agios Nikolaos plus 6 smaller municipalities and 19 communities along the touristically developed north coast of Crete with a combined population of 300, 000 inhabitants

The Keras Kardiotissas Monastery or simply Keras Monastery is an Eastern Orthodox monastery dedicated to the Virgin Mary that is situated near the village of Kera of the Heraklion regional unit in Crete, Greece. It is built on the north slopes of Mt. Dikti, at an altitude of 650 m, and a location that is approximately 50 km east of Heraklion, next to the road to the Lasithi Plateau.

Psychro Cave is an ancient Minoan sacred cave in Lasithi plateau in the Lasithi district of eastern Crete. Psychro is associated with the Diktaean Cave, Diktaion Antron), one of the putative sites of the birth of Zeus.
The Dictaean Cave is famous in Greek mythology as the place where Amalthea, nurtured the infant Zeus with her goat's milk. The archaeology attests to the site's long use as a place of cult worship. The nurse of Zeus, who was charged by Rhea to raise the infant Zeus in secret here, to protect him from his father Cronus (Krónos) is also called the nymph Adrasteia in some contexts.[2] It is one of a number of caves believed to have been the birthplace or hiding place of Zeus.[3] The mountains, of which the cave is part, are known in Crete as Dikte.

The creation of this park was made to meet the needs of thousands of visitors who sought to find and learn more about the Myth and culture of the ancient Greeks.

The park has an area of 3000 sq.m. Its construction started by the Pitarokili family, Nikos and Kaliopi in the year 2014 and was completed in the year 2020.

A shelter of nature and Cretan Tradition

Lasinthos offers numerous interactive activities and attractions. The main goal of the park is to revive techniques of Cretan traditional art. Around a scenic square, you can find spots where artisans are sharing their knowledge and skills with you. Doing so, you will watch artisans, who enjoy giving out their knowledge, manufacture traditional woven, clay pots, and much more. Guests will have the chance to taste olive oil, Cretan wine, and “raki” – the traditional spirit of Crete. The whole visit can combine culture and taste, fun, action, and pleasure.
