My husband and I came up from the Oregon Coast to Victoria to celebrate our anniversary week. Since one of our daughters and her family lives in Seattle we invited them to join us on the first part of our trip. Our two granddaughters, ages 10 & 5, are the ones that wanted to do the Carriage Tour....
My husband and I came up from the Oregon Coast to Victoria to celebrate our anniversary week. Since one of our daughters and her family lives in Seattle we invited them to join us on the first part of our trip. Our two granddaughters, ages 10 & 5, are the ones that wanted to do the Carriage Tour. Best decision. They enjoyed it better than The Butchart AND the Butterfly Gardens. Our horse, Utah, was fabulous and the girls loved her and her willingness to let them pet and love on her. Hannah was a fabulous handler and guide. Her gentle and respectful communication with Utah was appreciated by our compassionate bunch and her knowledge and humor during the tour was was thoroughly enjoyed. What could be better than being skillfully guided by Nicole and Ike in a carriage through Beacon Hill Park on Canada Day? Really enjoyed Nicole's historical references and descriptions along the route. Ike is a spirited beauty who wants to show off his athletic prowess and clearly did not like standing still for vehicles. But Nicole impressed us with her calm control through commands and praise. Ike was putty in her expert hands. The ride was entertaining and relaxing with this touring duo!We visited Victoria with another family from California on their first trip to Canada. We visited Victoria with another family from California on their first trip to Canada. We both have teenage daughters (ages 15 and 16). We all had a great time on the carriage ride/tour with Nicole and Ike! A Victoria native, Nicole was very informative and entertaining, and Ike was a champ! The girls loved the extra touch of being allowed to feed him post-ride carrots. Lynnea, is a knowledgeable and friendly tour guide. We opted for the full narrative although I liked the idea that they had a "shut up and drive" option. She knew her stuff and the three kids 6-10 liked it a lot. I think they would have been bored with the 90 minute tour.15 years ago my husband and I visited with our youngest son we said we would come back and take a horse drawn carriage ride which is what we did today and was it ever worth the wait! 15 years ago my husband and I visited with our youngest son we said we would come back and take a horse drawn carriage ride which is what we did today and was it ever worth the wait! Janelle (driver) & Tommy (horse) made it just perfect! I believe Janelle gave it her very best with the history plus, caring on a fun & friendly conversation while driving. Tommy would look back on occasion to make sure his buddy was still behind us. We’ll be back!
