I had an unforgettable experience with Meru Slopes Tours and Safaris and highly recommend to anyone who is considering a safari trip. Geoffrey, the manager, was extremely helpful in answering our many questions, organized, and extremely friendly. Transportation to/from the airport as well as accommodations before and after the safari we’re pre-arranged. He was always be available to help out with any requests during our stay at the Arusha Tourist Inn, and genuinely wanted to ensure that guests were comfortable and happy. Jacob, our guide and driver, is extremely knowledgeable not only with the region’s animals, but also other fauna (birds, reptiles) and flora. Our group had endless questions and he was able to answer most, if not all, of them. He went out of his way to ensure we had enough time to observe what we wanted, but also knew to keep things on schedule without feeling at all pushy. He also seemed to know all the good spots to observe wildlife and had a skilled eye for spotting animals even at a considerable distance! Although we didn’t see any rhinos on our trip, we did see a leopard which is quite rare! He is a lively, energetic, and cheeky guy; his energy always lit up the room (or safari car in this case) and it made our trip so much more enjoyable. He is also a very skilled driver and navigated the sometimes rough roads without issue. Moshi, our chef, is an exceptionally talented and dedicated chef with a warm heart. From start to finish, the food he prepared was hearty, plentiful, and just hands down delicious with a lot of variety. He also accommodated for our group’s dietary restrictions and food preferences with the limited resources he had. For days where lunch was eaten during the drive, he would wake up at 3/4 am to prepare our lunch in advance (which would still be hot by the time we had lunch at 12-2 pm) and then start on our breakfast - all before any of us had even woken up. I did have a little bit of heat exhaustion (make sure you are drinking plenty of water - the safari car is definitely well stocked), and during that time, he checked up on me multiple times, brewed some ginger-honey-lemon tea, gave me some of his personal balm to treat a headache, and shared some very thoughtful words with me. His kindness and compassion really lifted my spirits, and I will never forget these interactions with him. Geoffrey, Jacob, and Moshi, asante sana for the wonderful time and memories! It was a pleasure to have you as our guides and chef.We were a group of 4 doing a private safari in Tarangire, Serengeti and Ngorongoro. We had a great time with our guide Jacob. We were a group of 4 doing a private safari in Tarangire, Serengeti and Ngorongoro. We had a great time with our guide Jacob. Everything went as planned and communication was very easy before during and after the safari. They arranged transport from and to the airport and accomodation in Arusha the night before and after the safari. They were very responsive and quick, adapting the safari to our needs and request. Prices are competitive compared to other companies. We decided to go for lodge accomodation and we don't regret it. We stayed in amazing places - food was great and plenty and everyone was very nice and beyond helpful! We saw all the big five and many more amazing animals. Jacob was very knowledgable and with great driving skills, making all efforts for us to see all the animals. 4 people in a jeep is great and very spacious, we were very comfortable during the entire trip! We would just suggest bringing binocles with you since sharing between 4 was not enough and sometimes rare animals are fast to disappear. We would definitely and recommend 100% Meru Slopes and Jacob as guide! We booked a 4 days private Safari to Tarangire, Serengeti and Ngorongoro plus one day to Materuni Waterfalls and Kikuletwa Hot Springs for our honeymoon. We booked a 4 days private Safari to Tarangire, Serengeti and Ngorongoro plus one day to Materuni Waterfalls and Kikuletwa Hot Springs for our honeymoon. And what should I say, it was excellent! Those few days count to the best days of our lives! Geofrey was really helpful to plan all those amazing accommodations and trips and gave us the perfect safari guide ever. We highly recommend Innocent Mafuru (Insta: @innomafuru). This guy is just a jewel! Just for us two, with all his efforts, he made this perfect experience to the once in a lifetime adventure we will never forget! He was around all the time, but gave us privacy, if we needed, he fulfilled all our wishes, without even requesting them, he was polite and friendly, we had lots of laughs, good and really deep conversations! He speaks english nearly fluently. On the professional level, Inno is also well recommended. He is a safe driver and a well experienced guide. And last but not least, the price performance ratio with Meru Slopes is very good as well! We stayed in the most luxurious safari lodges without the feeling of being overpriced. Food always was good. We always got a lunchbox from the lodges we stayed at. The only thing we could complain here is, that the food got cold by lunchtime. So maybe bring a little camping gas stove next time, to heat the food. And the on board Wifi Hotspot didn’t work. But I think that was just bad luck and it didn’t bother us at all. You always get wifi at the lodges and to be honest, you don’t need internet connection, when you’re hunting your best photographies! So overall, we highly recommend booking with Meru Slopes! So special thanks to Geofrey, extra special thanks to Inno and thanks to the two guys who brought us to Materuni and the hot springs. I sadly forgot the names, but they did a great job as well! Everything was just perfect. From pick up to drop off at the airport. All the best wishes from Germany! Tobi & KaroAmazing safari, we saw all big5 multiple times! An additional note, he was very careful with driving (which many tour guides don't do as we saw multiple times!) keeping us safe. We ll be back! Our tour experience was great! Our tour experience was great! We arrived to Kilimanjaro airport and our guide (Muddy) was waiting for us at the exit. First night we stayed in a great hotel in Arusha, and next day we continue to Tarangire National Park where we could seen a lot of amazing wild animals. Next day to Serengeti National Park with a middle stop in a Massai village where we learned how they live and their culture is (I really recommend to do this tour). Serengeti safari was really great too and our guide did an excellent job finding all the animals where we had it right in front of the car. At Ngorongoro Crater National Park we continued the amazing experience with more animals and breathtaking landscapes where we discovered how this crater was formed in geological history. All the food inside the safari was very good, we ate in picnic points inside every park with awesome taste and very balanced. All the lodges on the safari were also comfortable with very friendly people and beautiful infrastructure. Last day we went to Materuni waterfalls in the Kilimanjaro area and later we enjoyed a delicious local food in the village, where they explained us how they cultivate and produce the local coffee (also very recommended to do this experience). Only point to mention is that on our return to Arusha we had a car failure and we had to wait the replacement but in every moment our guide tried to solve the situation and continued with the tour (at the end another fun experience to remember!) In general we can say that this company offer a good service with fair prices, they are very professional and they cover all the needs, questions or things we wanted to do. We were able to see amazing wild animals like lions, elephants, leopards, cheetah, zebras, giraffes, hienas, hipos, rhinos, birds and a lot more. For sure if you can choice Muddy for your tour don’t hesitate a minute! He is so experienced, nice guy and speak in a good Spanish, also Swahili for local people and English. I believe we had the greatest Safari experience. Expectations of Safari were one thing but the reality that Muddy from Meru slopes brought to us was beyond any expectations. I couldn’t imagine that we will see the rarest animals like black rhino twice. We saw all the animals and great migration. I couldn’t imagine that the landscape is so beautiful. Lodges and camps were well chosen and staying in them was experience as well. We did 4 days Safari with Muddy. He is very professional, easygoing and funny. He has the great knowledge about parks and animals. This was a lifetime experience, thank you Muddy. Wil and Anna
