3-hour Glacier Hike on Sólheimajökull

What to expect
You will meet your glacier guide in our Sólheimajökull Base Camp. After being fitted with a climbing harness, crampons and equipped with an ice ax, we will head up to the Sólheimajökull outlet glacier. The glacier walk starts with an introduction on how to walk and travel on glaciers and how to use the equipment you have been provided with. When everyone is ready and comfortable, the guide will lead you through the frozen wonderland if blue ice, glacial fomrations and deep crevasses.

- Not wheelchair accessible
- Please bring good, hiking shoes (high on the ankle), warm and waterproof clothing, hat and gloves.
- A small amount of walking is involved (about an hour on the glacier itself, with multiple stops)
- Children must be accompanied by an adult
- Minimum age is 8 years
- Most travelers can participate
- Hand sanitizer available to travelers and staff
- Regularly sanitized high-traffic areas
- Gear/equipment sanitized between use
- Transportation vehicles regularly sanitized
- Guides required to regularly wash hands
- Paid stay-at-home policy for staff with symptoms
- This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund

When I return to Iceland I'll be taking another Glacial hike with this company. Highly reccomended.This excursion was phenomenal; don't pass it up! We wound our way through a breathtaking crevasse and were suspended (very safely!) over water coursing deep into the glacier. The vistas and landscapes were unforgettable. This excursion was phenomenal; don't pass it up! We wound our way through a breathtaking crevasse and were suspended (very safely!) over water coursing deep into the glacier. The vistas and landscapes were unforgettable. Our guide was Jose, and you should request him if you get the chance. I am sure they are all wonderful but Jose was knowledgable, friendly, fun and most of all he prioritized our safety the entire time and you can feel how deeply he loves this region. I can't recommend it enough.My family and I had a wonderful experience hiking the glacier with our guide, Valerio. He helped everyone in our group feel welcome and safe. He struck a perfect balance between being humorous and informative.

We always felt well and safe during an amazing landscape made out of ice.
