What to expect
Itinerary
Day 1: Ha Giang - Quan Ba - Yen Minh - Dong Van
Stop At: Dong Van Karst Plateau Geopark, Sa Phin, Ha Giang 310000 Vietnam
Ha Giang - Tam Son - Dong Van ( 135km )
- 8:30am pick up from your hotel in Ha Giang city.
- 9am starting the tour from our office.
- 10am; we wil get into the Dong Van Global Karst Plateau Geopark, stop at the top of the Bac Sum pas the first pass leading to the Heaven Gate,
- 11 get to the top of the Quan Ba Heaven Gate, get a break coffee with the great view to the mountains.
-11:30-1:30pm; ahead to Yen Minh Town, on the way you will see the different changing from the lanscape when you get higher
-1:30pm; get to Yen Minh it's a small town, get some lunch break in town.
- 2:30pm-4pm: after lunch get in the Car again ahead to Sa Phin village where you will have chance to visit the Hmong King Palace
-4:30pm : get on the road again and enjoy the lanscape until Dong Van town.
- 5; 00pm check in the hotel and free walk around the Dong Van ancient town
- 7pm enjoy some local food and overnight in the town.

Day 2: DONG VAN - MA-PI-LENG PASS - MEO VAN - DU GIA VILLAGE
Stop At: Dong Van Karst Plateau Geopark, Sa Phin, Ha Giang 310000 Vietnam
Dong Van - Ma Pi Leng pass - Du Gia village (90km)
- 8:30am: get breakfast in the town with the moutains views (will have chance to visit the bigest local market in Dong Van if you come on Sunday)
- 9:00am: get on the road ahead to the beautiful pass called Ma-pi-leng pass top one of the four most beautiful pass of Vietnam
- 10:30am: get a short hiking on the Sky pass, where you can also have the view to the chinese mountains,
- 12:00: stop on top the Ma Pi Leng pass where you can see Nho Que river, Tu San canyon which is the deepest canyon in Southeast Asia.
- 1:15pm: get the lunch break in Meo Vac town
- 2:30pm - 5pm: get in the car again to get to Du Gia village, on the way to will stop at Sa Li pass where you can see the Dao village and rice tarraces from the top
- 5pm: get to the village checkin in the homestay of the Tay people, enjoy family dinner with the family fall as sleep with some happy weter. :)

Day 3: Du Gia village - Lung Tam village - Ha Giang city
Stop At: Dong Van Karst Plateau Geopark, Sa Phin, Ha Giang 310000 Vietnam
Du Gia village - Ha Giang city (120km)
- 8:30am have breakfast wiht the view to the rice fields
- 9:00-10:30am get on the road again to get back to Ha Giang, on the way will go through some villages of the Hmong people
- 11:30am arrive to Lung Tam village, will visit the place where you can learn how the Hmong people doing the Hemp weaving
- 1:30 get lunch break in Tam Son town .
- 2:30 - 4; 30pm 45km driving back to Ha Giang city, get to the city viewpoint where you can have the panoramic view to the city ( get the last bear after the tour wiht our team)
- 5:30pm: finish the tour at your hotel.

Hung was knowledgeable, spoke quite good English and only occasionally did we have to clarify what was said. He gave us his full attention throughout the trip, making sure we had everything we needed and was great company. We are travelers from Aotearoa New Zealand , and would have liked to have done the journey on motorcycles, however we were unable to do so. We think the travel by car with Hung replicated the experience as much as possible, including the unique and spectacular scenery, contact with local people, hair raising driving and roads, local restaurant/coffee stop offs and great home stay accommodation made this a fantastic trip.jazz09151

We initially planned a trekking tour in Hoang Su Phi in October 2019. When my friends suggested that we extend the trip with a road tour of Ha Giang Loop, I contacted a few tour operators listed on TripAdvisor. Opi impressed me the most with his responsive communication on whatsapp/email and his willingness to accommodate numerous changes to our travel plans. He customized the itinerary to a 4D3N Road Trip based on our preferences and arranged for our bus transfer back to Hanoi. I’m pleased that we selected Opi as our guide for the tour of Ha Giang Loop by Car. Everything went off without a hitch! The experienced driver skillfully navigated the narrow and winding roads(littered with potholes) so we were in safe hands throughout the journey. Opi and the driver, with their pleasant personalities are awesome travel companions. They introduced us to a variety of local food of unique flavours and tastes and we toasted with corn wine :) We were blessed with fine weather during the tour and the views of the landscape and the mountain ranges along the loop were magnificent. There were frequent stops along the way for photo-taking(Opi knows the good locations). I enjoyed the 1.5 hour trek on the Sky pass which offered stunning views of Ma Pi Leng pass. Opi also made the visit to Hmong Palace an interesting experience with his earnest explanation of the history of the structure and the culture of the ethnic community. Another highlight was a visit to the local market where we saw different ethnic minorities in their colourful costumes and the fresh produce and livestock sold at the market stalls. It was a good insight into the way of life of the ethnic groups. The Ha Giang Loop Road Trip is my most scenic tour of Vietnam to-date(having visited other places in Vietnam in the past). The landscape in Ha Giang is truly beautiful with the undulating peaks, valleys and rice padi fields. I hope more people will visit this scenic province of Vietnam in the future. I definitely recommend Opi & his team as the Guide for the Car tour of Ha Giang Loop .Marianna E

Awesome trip with our guide Tu and driver Hien, can only recommend. Communication and booking was also very smooth. We decided to pay a slightly higher price which granted us nice accommodations, huge family meals and a comfy car.

We experienced the Ha Giang loop over 3 days and 2 nights by car and it was spectacular. The route took us through mountains with the most unbelievable scenery, villages with the colourful H’Mong tribe, we swam in a waterfall but the highlight for me was trekking for 5-6 km along the mountains and valley and watching the people working in the rice fields and small farms. We have to give a special mention to our tour guide Steve, he took great care of us, & was from the area so had a great knowledge of the history and culture, he helped make the experience great fun. Our driver Thuan, was careful and competent & his large jeep/ minivan was a luxury to travel in. I can’t recommend this trip enough the homestay is great fun and you get to meet the family and their way of life.Alan_R

We had a great driver who kept us safe and was knowledgeable about the area. The scenery was magnificent and we loved the opportunity to see the various ethnic groups and to try all kinds of food. This is a unique part of the world and worth a few days of anyone’s time.

With our, Hmong origin, driver Tsung we had 3 wonderfull days in an astonishing Ha Giang loop tour. 3d, 2n ( enough, needs no more..) with a very convenied car we saw all the beautiness of this 'must seen' part of Vietnam. Close to china, much local culture, incredible views, good talks and info...
