The Classic Water to Wine tour begins with approximately an hour and a half inflatable kayak trip on a scenic stretch of the Verde River with just enough chutes and riffles to add a bit of excitement without ruffling any feathers. Your river trip ends in the shade of giant Cottonwood trees at the confluence of Oak Creek and the Verde River. Here, you take the gravel path up through the vineyards to the Tuscan farmhouse at Alcantara Vineyards for your wine tasting delight

The Alcantara Vineyards is a favorite on the Verde Valley Wine Trail, featuring award-winning wines and friendly sommeliers to guide you through the tasting. Each customer gets a $20 credit (included in price) to use for wine tastings, food or gifts.

We loved the inflatable kayaks and going down the river. It was fun and beautiful! The tour guide sent us a text message with directions the day before. There were two separate addresses in that message and neither one led to the right place. So this added stress and frustration. We ended up just...
We loved the inflatable kayaks and going down the river. It was fun and beautiful! The tour guide sent us a text message with directions the day before. There were two separate addresses in that message and neither one led to the right place. So this added stress and frustration. We ended up just Google-ing the name of the winery, which gave us the correct directions (Alcantara Vineyards). The kayaking was a highlight. Bring drinks! The winery is definitely a rip off and inflated the price of this tour. Next time I would just pay to kayak through the tour company and skip the winery. The wine tasting was very small portions and didn’t come with anything (no snacks/cheese/crackers); just 4 shot glasses of wine. There was live music which we liked.We had a great time on the water, then wine tasting. Great combo package. The staff was great and very informative with the group.

A group of us booked the water to wine kayak trip. Our fun trip stated in the bus with Matthew as our guide. He was informative but also really entertaining. We've been on the Verde tour before but Matthew did a great job explaining how to navigate the Verde and how to kayak. The water to wine tour was a blast with lots of twists and turns. It was also so great to end with wine! We'll be back!Enjoyed the kayaking so much! Just enough rapids and vey pretty. Winery was beautiful and we had so much fun sitting outside listening to music.
