Dugan is a good story teller, but be advised these stories are gruesome, probably not for kids.

I took the Nefarious Portland Walking Tour with Dugan. It was a nice balance of the scandalous, the thought-provoking and the humorous. While I did expect to learn about Portland, I didn’t expect the stops to be so well-situated in context that I would learn things about US and even international history. The characters and crimes included on the tour actually kind of took the concept of the typical crime/infamous tour a bit beyond the mold, so that was pretty cool. It was clear he had done quite a bit of research on what he was talking about. In terms of logistics, the tour started close to my hotel in the Old Port area. I think I got a good lay of the land on the tour, but I wasn't tired out. Oh and ask questions! Questions were encouraged and there was lots more info he had to share. It was my first trip to Portland and Dugan was also kind enough to share recommendations on other activities in town.Dugan was a fabulous tour guide! He was so knowledgeable and passionate about Portland’s history, and is a great storyteller. We had heard great things about him, and they were all spot on! This is a good way to walk the city and learn info you never would have imagined. If you enjoy true crime a...
