Stop At: The Mitten Buttes And Merrick Butte, Monument Valley, UT
First, we'll assign you a horse based on your experience, weight, and height. Then we'll start galloping towards the West Mitten Butte, followed by the East Mitten Butte. They are also known together as, The Mittens. When viewed from the south, the buttes appear to be two gigantic mittens with their thumbs facing inwards. If you capture the Merrick Butte at an angle you see that it's between the West & East Mitten Buttes. All three buttes are commonly seen together in many popular films and images. Its elevation is over 6, 200 ft making it one of the tallest buttes in Monument Valley.

Stop At: Sentinel Mesa, Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park, Monument Valley, UT
Located northwest of The Mittens, it's a mountain with an elevation of over 6, 400 ft. Most of the mesa is in the state of Utah, but a small southern section of it is in the state of Arizona. This breathtaking mesa can be seen from the Monument Valley Visitor Center.

Robert, our guide, set a relaxing pace and did a very nice job of filling us in on some of the history of Monument Valley as well as the names of the various buttes and rock formations. He took some terrific pictures that my husband and I were able to share with friends and family. We definitely recommend a horseback ride with Sacred Monument Tours!What a great experience this horseback riding tour was! Our guide’s name was Laurence! He was super nice, gave us infos about the land and took photos for us🤗 We were beginners but the tour was very nice! On a horse you get a totally different view of the valley I would absolutely recommand it🤠

He was very friendly and made sure I was comfortable the whole time. The tour itself is a very memorable and unique way to experience Monument Valley. We did the 2-hour horseback ride tour, and it was a blast! It was the highlight of our visit to Monument Valley. Our tour guide/wrangler, Robert, was very friendly and knowledgeable. He provided us with instruction on how to safely ride our horse, he gave us insight to the history of the Navajo land and people, and he took some great photos of us on the trail. We felt very safe and comfortable. I would highly recommend this tour if you are coming to visit Monument Valley!
