Chiara was great and told me everything about Messina even though I was the only one participating. She picked me up from the station which was very nice of her. Take the morning tour so you get to see the bell tower show at noon which is the highlight of the tour. The city is different from the older parts of Sicily because most has been destroyed by the earthquake and the war. The significant buildings have been rebuilt or restored. After the tour you can go and leave for another destination.Was contacted about the tour company wanting to change the time of our tour. I have written them back twice with no response. Not sure exactly what to do. Any advice?

Thank you!Our guide, Chiara, was very knowledgeable and energetic. The sites were interesting and the bell tower show at noon is not to be missed. There are steps to climb during the tour but otherwise it is easy walking. The cannoli at the end of the tour was delicious.

She was especially great in answering our questions and giving everyone time to get to the many places we visited.We will never forget that amazing bell tower and the wild lion roar! We heard that her company's van had been destroyed by fire and we hope that the culprits are caught and that Chiara and her colleagues are able to continue with their fine work!
