Overview

Day 1
Visit Bonampak with its fascinating murals and high-quality ancient Mayan frescoes as the main attractions. The pyramids are surrounded by the colors and sounds of the Jungle of Chiapas called also the Lacandon Forest. Yaxchilán is a splendid setting of an evergreen forest blanketing a magnificent archaeological site famous for its statuary art, stelae, and lintels. The Maya took to building the terrain of a peninsula surrounded by a meandering river.

Day 2
Take in the beauty of the mountain landscapes around Palenque on a day trip to Cascadas de Agua Azul and Misol-Ha. You'll descend on foot to the stunning waterfalls, with time for swimming in a deep pool at the base of jungle-covered cliffs (if the weather allows). Travel on an air-conditioned vehicle round-trip or opt for our drop-off option in San Cristobal. Enjoy this half-day tour or upgrade to a full-day tour that includes the archaeological ruins of Palenque.

Day 1: Bonampak & Yaxchilan

Stop At: Zona Arqueologica de Yaxchilan, Tollan, 16 de Enero, El Tesoro Mexico
Your adventure begins with pickup at your hotel with destination to the Corozal Border where you will hop on a boat that will take you to Yaxchilán, known for its large number of architectural structures and inscriptions. There are texts everywhere: on stelae, on altars, on door finials, and on lintels.

For the construction of the complex, the Mayans took advantage of the characteristics of the terrain of a peninsula surrounded by a meander of the Usumacinta River.

Stop At: Zona Arqueologica de Bonampak, Carretera Zona Arqueologica Bonampak, Bonampak Mexico
Is the modern Mayan word for “painted walls, ” which perfectly describes this rare, ancient ruin in the rainforest of Chiapas. Three rooms within the main structure at the archaeological site are covered with colorful, vivid murals from top to bottom, including on the arched ceilings.

Day 2: Palenque Archaeological site + Agua Azul & Misol Ha

Stop At: Zona Arqueologica de Palenque, Carretera a Palenque- Zona Archaeologica Km. 8, Palenque 29960 Mexico
After pickup from your hotel in Palenque city, you will travel to the Archaeological site of Palenque. Located in the middle of lush vegetation, the UNESCO World Heritage site served as one of the most important ceremonial centers of the Maya culture during the Classic period. Almost 200 years before the pre-Columbian ruins were discovered in the 18th century,  the nearby city was named by the Spanish — a literal translation of the Ch’ol word otulún, which means fenced or fortified place.

Stop At: Cascadas de Misol-Ha, Carretera Ocosingo Reserva de la Biósfera Montes Azules, Palenque Mexico
Misol Ha has over 35 meters high, the sunning “sweeping water” empties into a deep calm pool at the base of jungle-covered cliffs.

Stop At: Cascadas de Agua Azul, Reserva Especial de la Biosfera Cascadas Agua Azul, Palenque 29920 Mexico
Enjoy the beauty of the mountain landscapes and the wonderful Agua Azul Falls. This place consists of many waterfalls following one after another. The larger waterfall may be as high as 6 meters (20 feet). The perfect place to make beautiful photos. If the weather allows, you will have time for swimming in the crystal falls water.
You will have time to taste the food of any restaurant on your own.

Es un viaje muy largo desde San Cristobal , mas de 3 horas porque en la carretera hay muchos topes, estás muy poco tiempo si vas en viaje organizado y encima si llueve, es normal en agosto , no ves los colores tipicos de ellas
