What to expect
Itinerary
Day 1: Departure from Puno to Uros islands and Amantani Island
Stop At: Lake Titicaca, Peru
This excursion begins at 07:45am with a transfer from your hotel (or bus station) to the port. We then depart to Uros floating Ilands. We check out 2 of the 60 islands, see inside the houses. Later, after a 3-hour motorboat journey, we arrive to the Amantani Island. On arrival, you will see local families running down the hill to welcome you. There you will meet your designated host family. With them you will have a typical lunch made from natural products. Throughout the day, you will be able to participate in intercultural activities until dinner time. After dinner, you will watch a typical show.
You will spend the night at your host family.

Day 2: Amantani Island to Taquile Island to Puno
Stop At: Lake Titicaca, Peru
The day begins at 07:00am with breakfast with your host family, and then depart to Taquile Island. Taquile is a traditional Quechua speaking community, located at the heart of the Lake Titicaca.
Once at the harbor of Taquile, you will walk up along a narrow path to the center of the island.
Along the way, we will enjoy stunning landscapes, including the Bolivian mountain range.
As soon as we get to the top, our local guide will explain about traditional life on Taquile.
Later on, you will have free time to walk around, and by noon we meet up for lunch at one local restaurant.
Finally, we will descend to the harbor to take our boat back to Puno. Where we will arrive around 5pm

Hotel transportation put us on the wrong boat for a different tour. We were put on another boat to meet up with the correct tour later in the day. That boat broke down twice and required 30+ minute engine repairs both times. Once we finely caught up with our tour, the tour guide wasn’t present m...
Hotel transportation put us on the wrong boat for a different tour. We were put on another boat to meet up with the correct tour later in the day. That boat broke down twice and required 30+ minute engine repairs both times. Once we finely caught up with our tour, the tour guide wasn’t present much of the time on both days. Should have done a self guided tour and paid for transportation/meals on our own. It’s essentially what we ended up getting except for 10X the price by booking through Viator.
