Itinerary
Day 1: UYUNI - COLCHANI - TAHUA
Stop At: Joker Expedition, Bolivia, Calle Mexico esquina, Junín 591, Uyuni, Bolivia
1rt DAY: (L, D)
We start at approximately 10:00 a.m. hours and visit the train cemetery before heading to the Great Salt Lake.
Along the way we'll meet the people of Colchani, where we will see an artisan salt processing plant.
Duration: 1 hour
Stop At: Train Cemetery, Uyuni Bolivia
We will visit the "Train Cemetery" open field museum, of old trains dating from the previous century, which over time were worn out, and due to its particularity it is famous for taking photographs, the guide will explain all the history .
Duration: 30 minutes
Stop At: Salar de Uyuni, Uyuni Bolivia
We will visit the wonderful "salar de Uyuni" the largest salt reserve in the world, an immense desert of salt, where you can take pictures in perspective, with the help of your professional guide, you can enjoy the desert of salt at its best.
We will visit the wonderful "salar de Uyuni" the largest salt reserve in the world, an immense desert of salt, where you can take pictures in perspective, with the help of your professional guide, you can enjoy the desert of salt at its best.
You will be able to enjoy a private picnic lunch in the middle of the Uyuni salt flat, you will taste delicious local food with impressive views towards the volcanoes.

Stop At: Isla Incahuasi, Salar De Uyuni, Uyuni Bolivia
Then we'll enter Salar de Uyuni and head to Incahuasi Island (known as Fish Island) where you can observe the famous giant cacti.
Duration: 1 hour
Stop At: Tahua, Tahua, Potosi Department
Next we'll encounter the town of Coqueza located at the foot of Tunupa Volcano the banks of the Salar.
We'll spend the night at a salt hotel with private rooms. We may have time to head to the banks of the salt flat to witness a breathtaking sunset.
After dinner enjoy an evening walk near the hotel to stargaze.night tour.

Day 2: TAHUA - SALAR DE UYUNI - UYUNI

2nd DAY:
Watch the sunrise from near the Hotel followed by an optional breakfast in salar or at the hotel.
Stop At: Tunupa Volcano, La Plata, Bolivar y Sucre., Uyuni 45324 Bolivia
Then we'll continue our trip to Chantani's art museum, followed by a visit to Coquesa. Here we'll climb to the top of Tunupa Volcano for panoramic views of the salt falts. Next we'll visit the cave of mummies before a slow descent to the base of the volcano.
When we are at the foot of the Volcano, we will be able to appreciate vicuñas, llamas and flamingos, native animals of the region that are part of our visit.

Stop At: Salar de Uyuni, Uyuni Bolivia
Then we'll begin our drive back to Uyuni, enjoying lunch along the way as well as a dazzling sunset. We'll toast to the beauty of the region before arriving in Uyuni.

We were four friends from Sweden on this tour. Our guide Alvaro and chauffeur Coco were friendly, professional and knowledgeable about the places we visited. We can in particular recommend adding the star gazing activity to your itinerary. Coco drove very smoothly and we all found the car comfort...

The food was delicious, fresh and warm even though we were served in the middle of the salt desert. Joker expeditions was awesome. We missed our flight to La Paz, and Jose somehow, magically, pushed out our 2 day tour by a day to ensure we were still able to experience the Uyuni Salt Flat area to its fullest. Johnny shuttled us the 6+ hours each way from La Paz so that we could sleep in the car...
Joker expeditions was awesome. We missed our flight to La Paz, and Jose somehow, magically, pushed out our 2 day tour by a day to ensure we were still able to experience the Uyuni Salt Flat area to its fullest. Johnny shuttled us the 6+ hours each way from La Paz so that we could sleep in the car and arrive fresh for the tour since the flights weren’t operating on those days. We somehow managed to be lucky enough to spend the next 2 days with Israel and Coco. Israel knew all the best spots for photos, and is such an incredible photographer, that he was able to beautifully capture these amazing memories for us. We met others in the area, who were with other tour operators, and learned just how lucky we were to have Israel and Coco as our team. They took us to the best locations at the best times to avoid the crowds, while also giving us the WOW moment of the sunset over a remaining wet area of the salt flat in the dry season. Spending 2 days in the flats was the right way to experience all the magic of the area. We can’t wait to go back to explore more of Bolivia, and will absolutely book our next expeditions with Joker.Janet K

Absolutely amazing - our guide was knowledgeable and was really flexible with timing/accommodating us. We had an early flight to catch so they managed to compress the itinerary so that we didn't have to miss anything. A great experience overall!
