One of the best highlights of our vacations in Bali. This trekking tour was super well done. For the price, we had pick up from hotel, guide to the top for us, breakfast, entry to hot springs water pool after the descent and a coffee tasting experience after.. 12h of pure good moments. Recommended to bring sports shoes and jackets as its cold up there. There are either easy or hard way, if you are good athletes and are used to endurance, go for the hard way, its worth the thrill. Enjoy this moment at the sunrise! :)Excellent trip with a great driver and tour guide. This trek/hot springs/coffee plantation package was my favorite part of our 6 day trip to Bali. Payment is online via PayPal, so no worries about paying for something you won't receive. The company was prompt in responding and with confirming pickup times. The car picked us up from our AirBnB villa right on time and we got to the base camp around 3:00am. FYI, there are only rustic (aka squatting) bathrooms pre-hike. We brought our own headlamps, but the guides will also bring flashlights. They also provisioned us with a bottle of water for the trek. The hike itself is strenuous. However, as long as you are relatively fit, you can reach the summit. Total distance was ~2 miles with ~2,000' of elevation gain. Our group was a foursome of runners, so we made the summit in 75 minutes, meaning we had a full hour to sit and wait on the sunrise. If you are less fit you can stop and rest more often and take longer to reach the top and still catch the sunrise. If you're going to sprint to the top, bring extra layers. Your sweat chills easily at the peak. Once you reach the top there are several viewing areas. Our guide suggested the benches right on the edge, not the highest, but not the lowest either. These ended up being PERFECT because you had no one in front of you obscuring the view, and a perfect panoramic of the scene. Your guide fixes breakfast while you await the sun: coffee (hot, thick and sweet in the local style), volcano steamed eggs, bananas, banana sandwiches (don't knock it till you've tried it!), oranges, and some local chocolate snackbars. We devoured everything. After the sun came up our guide, Ketut, really shined. We held a full on photo shoot in the beautiful light of day, and he really showed off his photography skills. Honestly, so many great shots. I'd say ask for Ketut on your hiked, but since that's a common Balinese name not sure you'd get the same guy, but definitely try! After we made our way down a different route, we left Ketut and our driver headed 3 minutes down the road to the Toya Devasa hot springs. We soaked, enjoyed second breakfast, and relaxed for a couple hours. Finally, around 11am we left for our third stop. Yes, this is a long day, but so worth it. Last stop was the coffee plantation Santi. We learned a lot in a short period of time, sampled 13 different types of teas/cocoas/coffees made on the plantation (including the Bali specialty coffee Luwak for an extra IDR50,000), and then headed home. We got back to our villa about 2pm. Traffic was rather bad on the way back, so that added a half hour. Most of us napped on the return, honestly, we were so worn out by the 12 hour day. But I would definitely recommend this company and package. Next time I'm in Bali I would book with them again for another trek! Thanks Ketut!!I was wondering if I had made the right decision booking the mt batur and hot spring tour but after experiencing it it was amazing. I was wondering if I had made the right decision booking the mt batur and hot spring tour but after experiencing it it was amazing. The driver was good picked us up early nice car air con etc. The guide was lovely so genuine, helpful and knowledgeable and make our experience even better. The sunrise was perfect and our breakfast was great too on top of the volcano. Well worth it one of the best things I've ever done. My boyfriend and I took this tour on January 6th, 2016 and I can honestly say that Bali Trekking Tour was the best company to go with. Our driver Gede picked us up on time and was very friendly. We had great conversations with him both to and from the hike and he shared a lot about the local culture and surroundings. We then met our hike guide, Nengah. As part of the tour, you're given hiking poles and water, although I do recommend bringing an extra bottle just in case. When you first arrive to the drop off spot, there may be someone trying to rent you a jacket -- don't go for it. It's not too cold at the top and the extra weight will be hard to carry on the way up. There were numerous times we passed people on the hike who said, "what! They have hiking poles? Now that's what we need!" Nenjah was a great guide. He was very funny, knowledgeable about the area, and very thoughtful. I especially appreciated how he adapted the tour to our needs and good at going our pace. For us, this meant going pretty fast, especially on the way down, when we would blow past the other hikers for a more fun and exhilarating experience! After the hike, the hot springs were a great way to relax and I highly recommend going for a 30 minute foot massage which will massage your feet, ankles, and calves. This definitely help with soreness the next day. There *are* a lot of flies in the massage area so I recommend bringing a towel to cover yourself. The coffee plantation was interesting and the guide told us a lot about how they make coffee from plant to roast. This part of the tour included a sampling of different teas and coffees and the caffeine boost was very appreciated after our 2am wake up. This company is actually run by a family and they take a lot of pride in giving a good experience to everyone who visits. I originally booked this company over other ones based on the TripAdvisor reviews and it was 100% the right call. I think this experience was one of the most worthwhile while in Bali and highly recommend you also go during your visit!Me and my friend had the best experience ever joining the camping trip.
