We booked Maroc Expedition through GYG as it’s convenient. Having said that if I were to book again I would have booked directly. Their office is conveniently located next to the Kautubia! When we requested they helpfully picked up close to our Riyad. They were early to pickup. Our guide and driver Hasan was professional and truly multilingual! We loved Ait Ben Haddou; the drive across the snow capped high Atlas with pit stops; Ouzazate and off course the camp night in the desert near Zagora! The tents were clean and spacious and a decent spread for dinner and breakfast (especially during Ramadan). Omar our camel guide was super friendly and gets a special shout out!

We were an all-female group of cousins on this tour. We opted for the private tour option so that we would have our own van and some flexibility over the tour itinerary, esp. on the return day. The positives: The camp itself was clean and well maintained. When one is in the Dunes, sand is everywhere, and that's not unexpected. WC were really clean and we were OK with the food and music. The rest: Communication from the company is non-existent. Emails are not answered and when I called internationally using WhatsApp, there were assurances that everything will be fine, everything is fine...i.e., a rush to terminate the conversation. On the day of departure, pick up was to be at 8 am from our Riad. 8 am came but.... Crickets. Not a chirp. So I called the office again (like it's our job). Again... everything will be fine... everything is fine... rush to hang up the phone. 15 min later, the Riad staff tells us that the van and driver had arrived. I'm squaring off payment with the Riad but their internet is not working. Within a minute, one of our group comes to tell me: hurry, driver is angry that we are late. We are late?? I had to call to find out if anyone was even coming, not 15 min ago! The gall. Thus began our odyssey with the driver Mohammad - not with a hello or a welcome but with him barking at us that we were making him late. Over the next two days, the Mohammad calmed down but then the next issue emerged. The all-Muslim, Ramadan-fasting camp staff and Mohammad became extremely HANDSY. Considering that prior to one's visit to Morocco one reads so much about how conservative the society is and how, as travelers, we must be modest (which we were - we are a group of 5 Asia-born women, ave age 50), it was appalling how much harassment we endured just because our group did not have any males. Every time we were boarding the van after a pit stop, in the guise of helping us get in, Mohammad would just leave his hand on our body a little too long. When one of us nearly jumped, he eventually stopped. But the group member on the front seat found the driver's hand on her knee when she woke up after having dozed off during the long drive. In the camp, the staff would follow us around and ask to go into the dunes further away to "stargaze" better where there was no light (yeah, right)... and on and on and on. To the point that we made sure to band together to go to the WC, and did not feel comfortable being outside the tent by ourselves. Solo female travelers or female traveler groups, please note.

Our driver was Hamed Yacoubi for the next two days to Zagora desert from Marrakesh. We could talk in spanish with him and he's a really good driver! We stopped several times to rest/wc and to visit some places. Quads, camels, and the campament was perfect! 10 ou of 10

The experience is fantastic! We did a six days tour. Our driver, Mohamed, was excellent and helped us with everything we needed. We felt safe all the time and in good hands. The camp in the desert has all the required facilities, and the food is delicious. The hotels (Riads) are lovely, and the staff was always kind. Every penny was worth it. Highly recommend.

Amazing experience in the deep Maroccan nature and community! Hassan, our guide, is a real gentleman and kind person! Always on time and present, safe drive, good suggestions for food and spots to visit! The night in the desert was super, the local people are very respectful and warm! On top of this they are great musicians! A big thanks also to the dromedaries for leading us to the village! Strongly recommended, hope to see you soon for a new adventure! Forza Marocco 🇲🇦

We had a great trip with our guide Ghassan. The drive was smooth, and we stopped at several cool places along the way. Ghassan was an excellent guide; he was super knowledgeable and made us feel comfortable. The camel ride through the desert was amazing. When we got to the camp it was very nice, and we were served dinner. If you have any dietary restrictions, I recommend telling your guide in advance. We did not mention that we were vegetarian until dinner time, and at that point they didn’t have anything ready for us, but they kindly brought out some raw vegetables for us.

An increíble trip! If you go on it, do not doubt in ask for Ayoub, who was our guide in the trip to the dessert. It is a very complete tour though the dessert and the towns around it. Truly recommend it!

We had a fantastic time with our tour guide Karim and the rest of the team! The tour allowed us to experience the countryside of the Morocco and see different landscapes. The drive from Marrakesh included many stops at beautiful view points, which made the drive feel much shorter than it was. Once we arrived at the border of the desert we had the chance to ride on dromedars to the campside, which was a fantastic experience! Barrack led us through the village and desert and explained many of the things we saw along the way. The tents were very spacious and comfortable. We had a tent with our own bathroom and shower which was great. Many thanks to the team, we had a great time!

Good quality for money. Very friendly staff and overall was a great trip. Only stops for lunch on road were made in expensive touristic restaurants with average food.

My partner and I did the Zagora desert 2 day experience. I must say if you have more time do the bigger trip available but if you have limited amount of time like us, its perfect. Luckily we were also in an amazing group of people with similar jobs and age to us which made us click as a group. However the hosts from the drivers, guide tours, camel guides, desert staff - everything was so on point and thought out. There was food throughout the trip, great vibes and something that really stood out to me was when one of the staff int he desert said "if one of us are unhappy the group is unhappy so we will work on keeping everyone happy". It was even ramadan but there was beers to purchase for tourists which was appreciated after a long day driving through the desert. The camel ride is a wonderful experience and I was happy to see the camels where taken care of. Really great trip that I recommend if you are short on time but still want a "full" experience. It is a lot of time in a car but they made it completely manageable by many stops (toilet breaks but also to visit different historical places throughout). Where the camp is in the desert is absolutely spectacular and something taken out of Alice in wonderland. We also had a private tent and it was super clean (amazingly no sand!) and spacious.

Our trip to the Zagora desert was a wonderful experience. The camel rides and glamping under the stars was great, but the crown jewel of our adventure was our charming driver, Youssef. If you book this trip, definitely request Youssef. He was funny, engaging, informative and responsive to all our needs and requests. Despite the craziness of the other drivers on the road, I felt safe with him behind the wheel. And he speaks six languages! We spent hours on the road and loved every minute.

Being guided through the frenetic souk to meet our guide for the tour, Musti, we didn’t know we were a few short hours away from standing on the summit of the Atlas pass with a friend. Musti was much more than a wise guide to a wondrous tour. On the journey to the desert, he tirelessly answered the barrage of questions we had about the varied land of Morroco passing by outside the window of our cool jeep. He bared a sixth sense for when we needed to stop, apparently being able to summon a shaded cafe serving flowing tea on demand, even in the most barren stretches of the journey. But, perhaps most impressively, Musti instinctively knew when my girlfriend and I simply wanted a quiet moment together. We saw the bright rocks of the Atlas Mountains give way to the darker ridges of the Anti-Atlas, verdant greens contesting arid oranges along the length of the Drâa River (“where there is water there is life”, as Musti put it), estimated how many million date-bearing trees made up the valley’s palm grove and rode the transition from earth to desert atop dromedaries. We were fortunate enough to be the only tourists welcomed by the Berber to their sturdy camps. Here our hosts encouraged us to relax, “slowly, slowly”. And, so, we reclined in comfort, served tea, treats and tagine. By the time dinner was finished a wind had whipped up, sending streams of sand about our ankles as we moved from our comfortable bedroom tent, to the tent boasting clean toilets, showers and sinks with hot water, then on to the main tent where, because of the wind, we were entertained for the night — usually it would be outside around a fire. In a room layered with bright rugs the Berber sang to us, beating out rhythms on their drums. Musti joined us, serving as a bridge between people of very different cultures. He encouraged us to join the Berber in making music, so we soon found ourselves poorly striking drums, much to the amusement of the Berber. Never before had music felt such a communal experience, neither skill nor talent felt necessary to partake. Then, with Musti translating, we shared jokes, stories and riddles deep into the night. When we left for bed we found the wind had blown away the cloud, instead it was rattling the chains of a double swing. We sat there watching the stars until drowsiness took us to bed. Moments before sunrise, we were woken gently by an echo of last nights drums. One of the Berber was waking us in time to see the day dawn. We found our way to the top of a dune where we were greeted with hot tea, coffee and a warm sunrise. Just as the day before, the sand blew about our ankles, but, after the night with Musti and the Berber, we now knew it was called “Azwo” — the wind that carries sand. And, as soft and swift as the streaming sand, we drifted back through the mountains to Marrakesh. The sights we’ll remember forever; Musti is the friend we’ll never forget. Thank you again, Peter & Bia

I absolutely loved the experience that Maroc Expedition Travel provided to us. Said, the driver & touristic guide was the best ever. Very friendly, answered all of our questions, explained every single history about the places we went, made all the stops we wanted for pictures, and more. The Zagora desert was incredible, even though it's not a sandy desert (but with creativity, you can take nice pictures from the existing dunes). We didn't want to do the camel ride (animal rights reasons), and Said agreed to take us to the desert by car, without complaining. Mustafa and Youssef, our desert hosters, they were incredible as well. We had a great time, laughed all the time, we made some music on the fire pit over the moon. The food was fantastic and they made us a separate dish (as we are vegetarians). The camp itself was fantastic as well, very clean, spacious and safe. I loved the experience and I would recommend it to every single person!!

We took a two-day tour with our local guide, Musti. He spoke Spanish, English, French and Arabic/the local language if I’m not mistaking. He was very nice and knew exactly where and when to stop for breath-taking views and taught us a lot about the culture and daily life in Morocco. We had a fun time with the group. Together with Yusef & Rachid he organized the entire trip so well, including guiding us to our camp on a dromedaris, the meals in the camp, traditional music on the djembé’s and telling us riddles & having nice conversations by the campfire. The next day we stopped at the film sets, which was awesome. Anyways, we had an amazing time. 10/10 would recommend. Thanks again! 😁

Mehdi is an excellent guide, from the moment we met him we knew we were in good hands... his driving skills made the roads less curvy, his knowledge about the places we were passing by increased our experience, his taste in music is really good and he also learned us a lot about camels :D ... to sum it up, best and funniest guide we had so far!

Really nice, interesting trip! Long drive, but the views were spectacular! Our guide / driver Karim deserves special thanks for the energy and friendly care of customers! He stays on schedule and drives safely. He really deserves big thank's. Also at the arrival camp the guests were welcomed and the evening program was quite nice. For Camel the driving distance could have been a bit longer and more dune scenery. However, I am satisfied with this arrangement.
