We were lost and Nate, our guide, sent us a text and came to the rescue! On the tour, he was knowledgeable and was great at spinning the tales! We’ll definitely return and bring friends! (And I don’t mean return as a ghost….or do I!)

After doing numerous ghost tours in Williamsburg, by this company and others, we decided to switch it up this year and go to Yorktown. Our experience began with the tour operator not being in the location we were told to go and then making the three different groups of families feel like we were all in the wrong place. The tour operator was not a story-teller at all. She would reference "when I do this tour with kids ..." and how she would try to scare them. Did she think we just came for the history? We wanted to be scared, too! She would reference a story, but not provide the background/build up to make it the least bit interesting. At one point, she talked about googling a story. Well, the scary ghost story part wasn't working so maybe we just need to focus on the history aspect, right ... wrong! I'm an American history teacher and she said several things that were not historically accurate, including Civil War "tanks" and Washington and Cornwallis together at the surrender. It actually became comical during the tour and our group of 13 ended up having more fun creating our own stories and picking up historical mistakes ... but we could have done that without paying the fee for someone who clearly is not suited for the position. Oh and one final note, during the first part of the tour, she was on her phone quite a bit (texting/walking and then talking while she sent everyone off to look at the cave). All we could deduce is she was asking for whatever information she needed/training on the spot. After recommending we do this excursion to the other family that was with us, I was embarrassed that I cost them this money.

Thought this would be a good way to kick off Halloween weekend. First and foremost, this tour company is locally owned and operated. Our guide, Woody, did an excellent job at storytelling and entertaining us. Glad we went as it was different to walk around Yorktown at night. Will be booking the other tours they offer in the future.

My husband and I really enjoyed the Yorktown Hallowed Ground Candlelight Walking Tour. Our guide Woody was very knowledgeable about the area's history as well as making the evening very entertaining. I would suggest that anyone visiting the area take the tour.

We took the candle lit tour on October 27. And Woody was our guide. He was great took the time to answer questions that people had. He took us to I believe 8 different places and told stories about each one. It was very interesting.

Woody was so good at telling all of the stories. I had so much fun and learned a lot about the houses and buildings. This was a 10-10 experience! I would definitely recommend!

The Yorktown Hallowed Ground Tour was amazing, Woody was an amazing storyteller, has that perfect pause for dramatic effect. He is very knowledgeable on the area, would highly recommend!

Historically spooky and great for all ages! The group was captivated by Woodys stories and was patient with our whole group. Our family ranged from 5-76 yrs old and it was a perfect tour for all. The tour really incorporated history, local stories with an eery ghost spin.

We've been on many ghost tours, but Woody was not only extremely pleasant to listen to, but the stories and history of Yorktown he told was very engaging. We highly recommend this tour!

Excellent candlelit ghost tour experience! Does include some light hills and walking shoes are a good idea. We had Woody as our guide and he did a great job. I even caught this spooky face in the window of General Cornwallace old home. Take lots of photos and review them after the tour, it is tons of fun.

Woody was absolutely incredible!!! My daughter and husband missed out and I raved on about it all night long. We plan on attending another Yorktown Ghost Tour so they can hear all the incredible stories. In my opinion, this is a MUST-DO on your trip to Yorktown!

Anthony does a great job of blending history with eery sightings in the area. I would have liked a little more foundational info on Yorktown but it is something could look up in census data as well. I love history but my daughter not so much so this was a good blend for our family

Anthony was an amazing guide on both our Yorktown hallowed ground tour and our Jamestown Haunted River Cruise. The storytelling is excellent, funny and giving bits of history as well.

Anthony was AMAZING! We’ve never done a haunted/ghost tour before and decided to do this on a whim. We’re so glad we did it. We were beyond surprised by how great this tour was. The perfect mix of history and ghost stories. We were thoroughly entertained during the whole tour. Anthony kept things real, funny, creepy, and kid friendly all at the same time. We left with chills and some creepy stories to share. We would definitely do another tour with this company!

Anthony is very good storyteller and very entertaining. The bright moon and chilly weather added to the tours ambience. A couple of folks had experiences while on the tour, which was exciting. Anthony also handled an unpleasant situation very diplomatically and kept the tour on track. I would go again.

Amazing guide the night we went (Oct 16, 2021 at 8pm). Lots of history and it was super interesting. The tour does go on rain or shine, I’m glad the rain let up right before our tour!
