We joined a three night tour organised by this Tour. We were arranged to hunt aurora on bus, as well as viewing the wonder of nature at a station and a tent, both warm and comfortable. We enjoyed the tour very much. From the moment we met the tour representative at the airport to the time we were taken to our return flight, we felt the hospitality of all the staff who were delightful, polite and helpful. They were dutiful during the hunt for aurora and alerted us when it appeared whilst we were relaxing in the warm environment. They helped us to take photographs. Impressively a link was sent to us in the morning for photographs taken in the previous night. There must have been a lot of dedicated work throughout the night. We were taken to different restaurants so that cuisine of various cultures could be enjoyed. We thank each and every one who had provided service to us which was top class. Before we came, we had worried about how well we could settle in the extreme weather. With the wonderful service, this never came to our mind as soon as we were received.

Saxson was very knowledgeable and friendly. They were flexible so that we were sure to see the aurora for as long as possible. He also explained more about the Aurora, just the right amount of info to be interesting but not like a lecture. The snacks were on point and the experience seeing the aurora was magical!

We did the bus tour and the Aurora station tour and both experiences were very professionally planned out. The operators were punctual and very helpful throughout the tours on both evenings. Our guide, Angus, was the best! He was extremely knowledgeable about the Aurora and he also had some excellent jokes ;) I highly recommend Yellowknife Tours for anyone looking for a well planned out evening of Aurora hunting!

A guide who name is Angus. He was the best guide ever. Even though, we didn’t see the aurora that night but we saw aurora through his hard working for us in such a freezing night.. Thank you Angus and miss you hope see you again when we go up there again.

During our recent aurora hunting tour with four different tour companies: Morning Star, Yellowknife Tours, Northern Star Adventure, and Aurora Dream. Among these experiences, one guide stood out—Saxon from Yellowknife Tours. Saxon’s attention to detail was awe-inspiring. He meticulously checked cloud directions to pinpoint the optimal viewing locations for our group. Saxon wasn’t just a guide; he was a caring companion. He looked after each participant and helping everyone to take pictures. Thanks Saxon.

We visited in the first week of April and we were very lucky to get clear skies and an amazing aurora display. Our tour guide Janet was super professional - she constantly checked the sky so we would stop at a good location when a strong aurora display occurred, and she took really impressive professional photos for all of us. Not only that, she was really friendly and she made sure everyone in the tour had a good experience. You can't go wrong with this tour! Highly recommended

We had a great experience on the bus tour. We were taken to Prelude Lake where we could see the aurora light up across the sky. Our host, Florence, was very friendly and had many interesting conversations us. It was nice to have the bus there where we could go in at any time to warm up and enjoy some snacks!

Small and intimate tour (unlike the mega tour group I had done two nights previous). We went to two spots on frozen lakes for extensive Aurora viewing of some great displays.

Janet absolutely MADE our experience. Her excitement was incredibly infectious and much appreciated. I'm sure she has seen the aurora countless times but she was still so genuinely excited for each and every guest, it made the tour 10000% so much more enjoyable, and she speaks multiple languages which is amazing! After the tour ended around 4AM, instead of going home and going straight to sleep like everyone else did, she went through all the photos INDIVIDUALLY and emailed us at 5AM with a PERSONALIZED NOTE and ALL our OWN photos instead of a group link where we have to go through and download our own. WHAT AN ANGEL. I LOVED HER ENERGY. The locations they took us to were amazing and unique, I will definitely be recommending this to everyone I know and hopefully returning for another tour in the future :)

Visited 3 locations in about 4 hours. Very professional and nice tour guide speaking 3 languages (English, Cantonese & Mandarin) and taking awesome photos for us with the aurora in the background. Hot drinks available. Pick-up and return to hotel entrance by coach bus. Enjoyable experience. Highly recommended!

This trip far exceeded expectations. Was able to see the Aurora three nights in a row! We went to a different destination each night. There was indoor coffee/ cocoa/snacks available. It was well below zero. I would highly recommend renting very cold weather gear that is available. (Coat, boots , mittens, hat, neck warmer) All arrangements from air port pick up and drop off to all the wonderful activities were made by Angela and her staff. Pick up and drop off were from hotel lobby. Daytime activities included dog sledding, ice fishing, city tour, ice castle visit. (I passed on snowmobiling) I stayed ay Explorer Hotel. Clean and comfortable. I enjoyed the Prince of Wales museum (on city tour) and went back to be able to explore more about indigenous peoples who are local to the area. I am so grateful to Saxon and Angus who took us on the Aurora viewing on a comfortable warm shuttle bus. They were available for recommendations on camera settings, and they took photos of anyone who wanted one. Photos were sent by email with a link to the photos they took. Unbelievable gorgeous pictures of the Aurora Saxon and Angus and all the staff at Yellowknife tours made sure everyone had a great time. Many guests were from Hong Kong and tour guides were fluent speakers and gave explanations and info in Cantonese and English

Saxon our tour guide is knowledgeable, attentive and very good at taking tons of pictures for everyone. We went for other bus tour too but this one is so much better at choosing secluded spots not interfered by passing traffic lights.

Yellowknife Tours is a great company to use. I did the 3 night package staying at the Explorer Hotel. I was meet at the airport and taken to my hotel and on the first night picked up for the Aurora Bus tour. Angus was a fantastic guide and we saw the aurora all the places we visited. The photos he took were put on line for us to download for free. Even I was able to take some photos.

I took 3 different Aurora tours during my stay in Yellowknife, two of them were the bus tours. This tour was my first Aurora tour. Floris was our guide and she was bubbly and informative! She kept us entertained in the bus while we waited for the Aurora to show. I felt that she was able to get everyone’s group pictures of the Aurora and quickly emailed it to us the next day. For most of these bus tours, I think the guide is what makes or breaks the tour and Floris was so fun! My only criticism was that every single seat on the bus was full. It was a bit crowded as compared to the other tour that I went on. There were at least some room to move around and not so cramped.

All the staff at Yellowknife were wonderful! We were so lucky to have seen auroras for 3 days in a row — thanks to our tour guide Angus. Angus was knowledgeable and helped to make the entire trip a success, and he even helped to take photos of everyone in our tour group. I will be sure to be back and hope to book another trip with Angus soon.

We took the Aurora by Bus tour from 3/19-3/22. The Yellowknife Tours comany provided excellent itinerary, services and guiding during the entire tour. We were able to see aurora all three nights and they arranged various activities (customizable too) during the day. It was a fun filled unforgettable experience in -30 degree celsius but we were well taken off with winter gear rental, nice and clean tour buses, viewing spot (lodge, tent) and amenities. Highly recommend their package if you are from an area not acclimated to winter driving, clothing and everything cold/frozen. Special thanks to our tour guide Angus, he is knowledgeable, patient, explained everything in detail and never rushing us. He was also very responsibly staying outside in extreme coldness to observe the viewing condition and informing us to go out. He also takes good pictures and shared with us after the aurora viewing each day (3am!). He also demonstrated the techniques, settings, etc., so everyone can have success for picture taking. Angus is the best! We maybe lucky for the weather condition but the package and service Yellowknife Tours provided is a must for people from outside the Artic region.

Had an amazing experience with Yellowknife Tours! Did two tours with them (bus and aurora station) and was lucky enough to see the gorgeous lights on both nights. Our guide Janet has great energy and takes really good photos. Her professionalism was the cherry on top!

The aurora light is and amazing and dance across the night that left us in awe. I'm immensely grateful for the guides' dedication and I strongly recommend this tour to everyone who want to know more about the history and culture of Yellowknife. This is not a "formalism" tours, the tour guides lived in Yellowknife for a long time and they went beyond to ensure us had a memorable aurora viewing experience such as photography services, expertise knowledge and passion to lead visitor respect the nature of Yellowknife.
