Roger was my guide for the day in Xian. Thoroughly enjoyed his company. He is impressively well versed in the history of the warriors and the period of their making. Got to meet the farmer who discovered the archeological site. Highly recommend Roger. Thank you so much for the excellent day trip.

I ended up with a private tour with Roger, who was great. So happy I did not try this on my own. The soldiers are the 8th wonder of the world, amazing. Very crowded with people everywhere and my guide knew all the best spots for photos. Roger spoke English very well and had lots of history and interesting information. He had a excellent suggestion for lunch and the flow was smooth. The driver was also excellent and did a great job avoiding an accident when a bicycle flew into our path.

One of the main reasons for visitng China was to see the Terracotta Warriors. We were only due to be in Xi`an for one whole day. Unfortunately the night before our visit, my husband became really unwell with such a bad stomach upset that he was too weak to walk. Our guide was wonderful. She initially took us to a pharmacy where we purchased medication. She then arranged a salted drink when we arrived at the site of the Terracotta Warriors and a guy with a wheelchair so that my husband wouldnt miss the tour. The tour was wonderful. Carol is both caring and so knowledgable. She also made it really interesting without being overloaded with information. It was a great trip and one that we will remember for a long time. If we had been booked on a large group tour I suspect we would have had to miss the tour altogether. Thanks so much Carol!

Tour was perfectly organised. Tracy's English is very good and she knows a lot about Chinese history and the places we visited and she was very friendly and flexible. We highly recommend to ride a bike on the city wall of Xi'an and to walk through the muslim quarter.

What an amazing day! Full of culture and allot of history! Tracey, our guide took us to see the Terracotta Warriors. She is very knowledgeable and very passionate. We then explored the City Wall. Did a full day tour with Judy. She was very knowledgeable and spoke English very well. We toured the terrace cotta warriors, had lunch, toured the wall and a museum. We had a wonderful day.

We had a fun day in Xi'an on June 6 with Lily, our tour guide. On our way to Terracotta Warriors display, Lily enthusiastically shared Xi'an's rich history with us "Xi'an city is a Living Museum" - wherever you dig in Xi'an, there is history to be found. Lily's knowledge about Xi'an's place in China history is vast and made us very familiar with the city. IAs we entered Terracotta Warriors display - it is very easy to get distracted by the crowds and the seemingly sameness of the warriors. But, she knew exactly where to stop - telling us what to look for in each pit (we visited all 3 pits). With Lily as our guide, we came back from our Terracotta Warrior visit with a much greater appreciation (hey, I almost qualified to be a guide myself). My wife, and our daughter also appreciated Lily's easy-going style, her English-speaking and communicative skills. We also did the tea sampling at the food court - located near Pit # 3. We also visited Big Wild Goose Pagoda - what a peaceful place and again, Lily told us the history where to take a perfect picture with the Pagoda in the background, the difference between the bell tower and drum tower - making our visit so much more meaningful. Lily went an extra mile to take us to a quick City wall visit as there was a short time left before our overnight train journey to Beijing, making sure we were seated in the right compartment (again, getting tickets from the right counter, waiting in the right platform - all would have been daunting with our lack of Mandarin speaking skills). Thank You Travel China Guide Tours and Lily and the driver (sorry to forget his name) for making our day in Xi'an so so Perfect.

Our tour was effort less, easy to navigate, and Susan our tour guide was incredible! This company takes care of it all! They delivered our train tickets to our hotel in Beijing, then picked us up at our hotel in Xa'in, and proceeded to drop us back off at the end of the day to head back to Beijing. They were kind, easy to work with, and priced very fairly. Susan was just the best, we all fell in love with her and wished we could have taken here throughout China with us!

We packed what seemed like a couple days of activities into one day with Roger, which worked nicely for our group of two. We got to see the Big Wild Goose Pagoda and surrounding structures, biked the City Wall (huge highlight and only 45 yuan each bike), and explored the Terracotta Army. Roger is EXTREMELY knowledgeable and this came in SUPER handy at the Terracotta Warriors. I learned so much more than I did visiting the exhibition on tour! I'm not sure how Roger can so easily sum up all the history, the numerous Dynasties, and Xi'an's emporers, but he did, and I leave with a deeper understanding and appreciation of Xi'an than I came with. This was an amazing day and Roger is a walking encyclopedia.

We had a great time with our guide Roger! We were able to visit the Pagoda, city wall, and Terra-Cotta museum. Roger was so knowledgeable on the history and culture of these sights. We especially loved the Terra-Cotta museum! It was an incredible visit

We had very nice and interesting private visit in Terracota Warriors Museum. Our guide - Tracy is lovely, professional and really nice young person ! Thanks to her we spent memorable day and we received a lot of interesting facts about the museum and fascinating chinese culture.

When Roger picked us up at the airport, he started telling us the history of Xi’an and the warriors. He was polite, extremely funny and spoke almost perfect English. When I return, I will hopefully be able to call on him again.

My sister and I visited several locations in China thru a private tour with China Tours. We were very fortunate to have Carol as our guide in our stop at Xi'an. She was very educated, spoke excellent English and had a great rapport with people. She spoke "to" us and not at us and went out of her way to see our time in Xi'an was memorable. We added a dinner/show that evening which Carol accompanied us to. While I know she had this same dumpling dinner numerous times, she treated our time with her as a first with her smiles and enthusiasm.

Our private tour considered of 6 in a family group aged 7 to retired. We were all looking forward to the terracotta solders and were not disappointed. This was a highlight of our 2 weeks in China and tour guide Jacky made it ever better. Friendly, knowledgeable and willing to answer any question--he was terrific. We even met the farmer who discovered the soldiers in 1974 and he happily signed his book for us. Going to China -- don't miss the terracotta soldiers-- one of the wonders of the world and get Jacky to share the experience.

What a great time we had in Xi’an - with many thanks to our super guide Jacky. There is no doubt that if you get a good guide then they add so much more to your trip. We are a family of 2 adults, 7 children & 2 grandparents that just returned from a 12 day private tour of Beijing, Xi'an, Suzhou & Shanghai with Travel China Guide. We were very impressed with the organization and pre-planning. Wendy, our tour operator, was extremely helpful and accessible in planning a very catered itinerary for our big family. When we arrived in Xi'an, Celine, picked us up at the train station with a smile and full of energy and information to share with us. We visited the Terra Cotta Army, City Wall & Small Wild Goose Pagoda. Celine gave us excellent recommendations for meals and what to do the next day on our free day in the city. We visited the Muslim Quarter, biked the city wall, and visited the Bell & Drum Towers on our own. Celine was so informative about every location we visited. She is so full of energy that our kids just adored her. She worked at our pace and introduced our family to her beautiful city. Thank you, Celine, for sharing so much with us!

The driver arrived at my hotel 15 minutes before my scheduled time. I was quite surprised that they were picking me up from my hotel since I was staying at the Renaissance, which is far south of Xian. I didn't realize how far it is until it took the driver about 30 minutes to reach the other passengers at the Hilton. I'm glade they were able to pick me up though since it is somewhat far walk to reach the metro. When we picked up the other passenger, our guide, Tracy also joined. Tracy is an excellent guide and speaks English very well and I can easily understand her. She seems quite knowledgable of all the places we visited. During the trip to the Terracotta warriors, Tracy gave us a brief history of the warriors and the story of how it was found. When we reached the first destination, she gave explained about each area and then gave us plenty of time to take pictures and look at everything. She answered all our questions and went out of her way to accommodate us. I mentioned I had nothing to do the next day and she recommended hiking huashan, which I was interested in but there wasn't any tours available for the next day. She help arrange for a driver to pick me up the next day, drive me there, buy tickets, and drive me back. Overall the tour was great and Tracy was great guide and was very helpful throughout the whole trip. She answered all our questions, didn't rush us when we were taking our time looking at something, and greatest of all, didn't pressure us buy anything.

Randy, Julia and I had a amazing visit to the city of Xi'an made even more memorable because of our fantastic tour guide, Roger. Roger was able to convey great detail and historical context of the Terracotta Warriors, Small Wild Goose Pagoda, City Wall along with many other aspects of the city of Xi'an. I look forward to returning to China and taking some more excursions with Travel China Guide tours. Thanks Roger for a really memorable experience (excellent lunch choice)! Oscar V
