A great experience. A fantastic overview of the organic wine producing process. Top wine tastings and lunch. A really fun group

A walk away from Siena in the beautiful Tuscan chianti region, this is a wonderful time to spend a few hours. We learnt about olive and grape farming, organic criteria and the careful controlled and uncontrolled aspects of wine production. The setting is beautiful and the experience informatively and accessibly narrated. The wine rating was also in a beautiful and relaxed setting, with a fantastic lunch, appropriate for the region. A Must!

What a great experience. Our guide Maya gave an exceptional presentation on growing different varietals on an organic farm, then followed that up with how the farm processes the grapes. That was followed by a tasting of four of their wines, a light lunch (which was also excellent, making accommodations for allergies), and dessert paired w another wine. Very enjoyable and informative. Take the tour!

We booked this a year before we even had our itinerary set for Italy and we are so glad we found this cute winery! It was a wonderful experience and our guide (Gianluiggi) was fabulous! We had a great time learning about the wine and winery and were treated to a delicious lunch prepared by the owners. We even ended up shipping wine home as we couldn’t leave Sienna without a delicious keepsake! Would highly recommend this to anyone who loves to learn about wine and appreciates small, family run wineries.

We had a small group for the mid morning tour recently and I can highly recommend this tour. The owner did a very good job of showing us his vineyard & explaining all that goes into making his wine & olive oil. The sommelier who handled the tasting had a great personality. The venue is beautiful, the food was delicious and we left with wine that we look forward to enjoying again at home.

Our host John, was great. He explained all the steps in their wine, making process, answered all the questions we had and was delightful during our tasting. Food and wine was magnificent. What a great way to learn about the Tuscan area and meet new people. Highly recommended!

We really loved this wine tasting. The farm owner actually gave the tour which made it so special! It was a lovely place to learn about his wine making experience as well as his olive oil making experience. All of his wines were very good. We ordered some to ship back home. We were also giving a nice little meal to go along with the tasting! I highly recommend this tour!

I would give 10 stars if I could for this beautiful wine tour! Renato Spanu is the owner/wine and olive oil maker. He does the tour and you learn so much about the region and process. The wines and olive oil were wonderful! They served us an amazing lunch!! You absolutely want to go to La Lastra!!!

Very enjoyable and informative wine tour! We loved the tasting and the lunch was amazing - some of the best food we had on our trip to Italy. Even in the off-season (early March), the property is beautiful. They also have great olive oil that we bought a bottle of in addition to wine. Short drive from Siena which was very convenient. Highly recommend!!

Great way to spend the afternoon in Siena. The venue was a 15 minute taxi ride from our hotel in the old city and it's surprising how close the country side is to town. The winery is old and very well maintained, so walking through the archway entrance was like going backwards in time. We had a nice tour of the cellar and the vineyard and lots of details about the running of this organic winery. Our host had excellent knowledge of wine making and the wine we tasted. All 4 wines were very good and so was the light lunch that the winery provided. If you can only afford a half day, this is an excellent choice. Keep in mind that unless you have a car you will need to take a taxi to and from your accommodation.

The staff/owners are so incredibly accommodating and informative, and they made the whole experience incredible. I learned so much about the process of making wine and olive oil from start to finish, as well as the environmental challenges that the vineyards must endure. Moreover, the food was delicious and the wine was certainly the best I have ever had (and I live in Spain!). I would buy their entire stock if I could. I highly recommend this tour. It is so much more intimate and informative than any other wine tour you will experience.

5, the winery owner gave us our tour. He was incredible and shared so much of his knowledge. The wine tasting was great and we also got lunch.

A wonderful experience and a terrific way to spend part of your day. Our guide, Giancarlo, was very knowledgeable and took his time in explaining and answering various questions about all aspects of wine and olive oil production. The wine tasting with lunch was very good. We purchased a mixed case (wine and olive oil) to be delivered back to the US and we are looking forward to receiving it. We would definitely recommend and plan on going back the next time we are in Siena.

This tour was a highlight of our two week Italy trip!! We were lucky enough to have our tour lead by the owner and winemaker himself. He was so passionate and great at explaining things. The lunch and wine portion was delicious. The whole property was beautiful. I highly recommend this experience!

This is a great tour. I can’t remember the winemaker/owner’s name but he provided a fantastic description of how he honors the tradition of Chianti making and doing it in an organic manner. The wines were good, especially the rose. Was almost a 4 hour experience with a nice lunch. We would HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
