Our travel agency had recommended and booked for us a canoe tour on Pyramid Lake, Jasper. We had the tour in the morning-8.30- just the two of us and Mike. We enjoyed a lot this private tour, nobody else was on the lake and you could feel that also Mike enjoyed to be out there. He is a really good guide and the whole trip was good fun. He explained a lot about flora and fauna and we were watching animals or watching out for animal traits at the shore. We also asked a lot of questions and Mike was happy to answer. What a beautiful quiet place! They build canoes themselves, very cool. Also really nice and well prepared was the picknip stop. With coffee, tea and hot chocolates and cake we enjoyed a pit stop before finishing the tour round the lake. Many thanks Mike for this very special experience! This Pyramid Lake Guided Evening Canoe Paddle tour on my 12 day trip to the Canadian Rockies was the absolute favorite paid tour I took. The small group (4 participants and 2 guides) was intimate, quite and calm, exactly what I wanted. The commentary about the lake and area was done very well by not talking too much, too fast or not enough. We didn't have to paddle if we choose to take pictures but could calmly paddle to enjoy. The mid-point stop with refreshments was delicious and stressfree. Our guide switched the seat order when we got back into the canoe so we all had a chance to view the beauty of the area from the front. I was concerned about getting wet during the trip but that concern quickly faded. The canoe was stable. They added blankets for comfort. This trip is absolutely in the top 2 activities I did in Canada and brings a huge smile to my face. I wish I could remember the guides name to give him kudos for a job well done.

We did the Private Signature Canoe Experience in the evening with Travis. It was a great trip. The lake was beautiful and Travis was very knowledgeable about the local ecology. There was almost no-one else on the lake and it was very peaceful. We didn't see that much wildlife but did see a mink and some loons. It was a lovely few hours, and the home-made treats were delicious! We would highly recommend it.

If you do one thing in Jasper join Mike & his wild evening canoe - unbelievably tranquil & totally stunning scenery after everyone else has gone home. Great guiding, awesome views, understated & relaxing. Simplicity done to perfection.

This is so much more than a boat ride. Our three hour canoe experience was amazing; completely surrounded by beauty and narrated by our knowledgeable skilled guide Travis. He knew so much about the history, the flora, the fauna and the boat (which he helped to build). The canoe itself was gorgeous and after a quick lesson, we set off. We saw and heard loon, enjoyed watching mink frolic on the shore and stopped on a small beach for yummy treats (no bags of Doritoes and Chips Ahoy; these were freshly baked scones ,etc). Thank you Travis for an unforgettable experience

Truly wonderful evening experience with Mike for or family of four. We took this trip coming to the end of a 2 week Canadian adventure and we all agreed that it was one of our highlights. Mike couldn’t have been more welcoming and knowledgeable about the lake and it’s wildlife. We had a glorious pit stop mid trip and enjoyed drinks and cakes that Mike had brought. The light was amazing as we paddled back tired but exhilarated. You absolutely should book this trip.

My wife and I were in Canada, for nearly 3 x weeks, celebrating our retirement. We did, and saw, some amazing things. We did the lakes and mountains, we saw the bears, we even did Niagra, on the way home. But, canoeing on Lake Pyramid, in the early evening, with Mike, was by far, our most memorable experience. We had a surreal pinic, on a secluded bay, at the far end of Pyramid Lake. We stood in the water, looking out at the mountains, and the expanse of nature. But the pure silence was the most amazing experience. We paddled back, discussing the history of the indigenous people, and the privilege we had, just by being there. I don't routinely leave reviews, but this was special. Mainly because of the history, the scenery and because no-one else was there. Therefore, I'm reluctant to recommend it, to make it another mass tourist attraction. Without sounding pretentious, I'm not a spiritual person, but this was as close as I've got to a spiritual experience. I hope we can return, and enjoy this experience with Mike. This is not a 'post script' , but, I didn't put photos on, because they simply didn't do the scenery justice. Best regards, Steven and Gillian.

Great experience and would highly recommend! We booked this experience as part of our 3 week honeymoon and BC/Alberta and it certainly is an experience we will never forget for all the right reasons. Our guide (Mike) communicated with us well before our trip and went the extra mile to make sure we got the most out of our experience sharing his knowledge of the best lake to visit as due to the time of year, some were still frozen. We went to Talbot lake and it was wonderful. It was so peaceful, and we got to see so much in what felt like a very short space of time. Mike was extremely knowledgeable about nature and wildlife too which only added to the experience. Thank you for a wonderful time! If you don’t book an experience with WCO - you’re missing out!!

We booked an evening canoe trip towards the end of our Rockies road trip in late August. Book direct on their website for best price and info. When we arrived it was quite windy so the other people had cancelled, but after discussion, and no pressure, Mike was happy to take just the two of us out. The canoe was very stable and Mike clearly knows the lake and the local weather like the back of his hand, so we felt very safe and well looked after. Lots of birdlife which Mike helped identify, and surrounded by the amazing mountain scenery, what a great way to spend a few hours on a tranquil out of the way lake. The stop on a remote beach for hot chocolate and cakes was very welcome interlude. We did some paddling and Mike managed to keep the boat on track. Wrap up warm for an evening trip!

My husband and I had a great time experiencing Pyramid Lake at sunset as part of this experience. From the start, Mike was very welcoming and demonstrated how to operate the boat. We then canoed looking for wildlife, with Mikes very extensive knowledge and enthusiasm for the area clearly showing. Mike canoed us to a private beach where we went swimming in the lake and were provided with fruit, cakes and bakes from the local bakery as well as a piping hot chocolate. They truly went above and beyond. Whilst we didn't see any of the larger wildlife due to the time of year, Mike was excellent at pointing out the lesser known/smaller species that were around the lake. Overall it was a fantastic experience and a great way to see a different perspective of the rockies. We thoroughly enjoyed it and couldn't have asked for a more welcoming and knowledgeable host.

Absolutely loved canoeing Pyramid Lake, Jasper. A perfect evening, the lake was still. The weather outstanding. Mike’s knowledge of the local area and wildlife was amazing. In particular I loved the loons and their babies. We also saw a mink and elk. The food provided was also great, with fresh blueberries, scones and apple bar served with tea or lemonade. Was a lovely evening. If I had more time I would’ve loved to try the morning paddle. Thank you Mike!!

We had a perfect and stunningly beautiful morning out on Pyramid Lake with Mike. We had a very tight window for a canoe trip on our last morning in Jasper before catching an evening flight out of Calgary to the States and Mike bent over backwards to accommodate our early morning schedule. The canoe ride was absolutely breathtaking and Mike is an outstanding, knowledgeable and dynamic guide. We learned so much about Jasper and Canadian history and wildlife from Mike during our ride. Mike also surprised us with delicious hot chocolate and breakfast pastries! Our teens also had a blast. Thank you SO MUCH Mike for giving us such a memorable and phenomenal canoe ride as our parting gift for our last day in Canada!

We had an absolutely perfect trip that far exceeded our expectations. We were lucky to have an amazing summer’s day with perfectly clear and still water. Mike was a great guide, very knowledgeable and calm. We sat for a while on a small beach and just enjoyed the peace and quiet. It was a little too hot for animals but we saw and heard loons and saw animal tracks. I could have happily sat there all day. We did quite an extensive circuit of the lake and felt we got very good value for money. I’d highly recommend.

Review for 23rd July 2022. Absolutely loved our time with Mike canoeing Pyramid Lake, Jasper. We had a perfect morning, with many photo opportunities including mirror reflections on the lake. Mike's knowledge of the local area and wildlife was amazing. In particular we loved getting to see the loons and their babies. The food provided was also great, with fresh blueberries, cinnamon buns and the coffee! Was an honestly lovely morning and 10/10 would go again if we are ever in Jasper!

We are a family of four travelling through BC and the Rockies with two older teens. We had the most idyllic morning paddle with Mike on Pyramid Lake. We chose an early start and had the lake to ourselves. Saw lots of birds including a cute family of Loons and a few small mammals. Mike was knowledgable about the wildlife and the natural features around the lake and gave advice on where to visit and where to see larger animals. We had a lovely breakfast of pastries and coffee/ tea and swam from the small beach on the far side of the lake. Despite complaints from the teens in our party about the early start they both admitted afterwards that they really enjoyed the trip and even that is was a highlight of our trip so far-high praise indeed! I would highly recommend this trip for anyone travelling through Jasper. Thank you Mike.

We absolutely loved our canoe trip with Mike! We joined a couple to make a group of 5, so the canoe wasn’t short of space and was surprisingly very comfortable. We spent about 1.5hr on the water before a break with some yummy snacks and juice from Mike then paddled back to the dock. Scenic, picturesque and good fun. Mike had great knowledge of the area and was very friendly. We were dropped off in town afterwards to get our dinner and we’d been picked up by him at our hotel. One of the best things we did in Alberta, hands down. Thank you Mike, hope to be back!
