My family had a great time on this excursion. Jesus was both informative and entertaining (he's got a great supply of Dad jokes) on both the ride to the launch site, as well as the rafting experience itself. Both Cristobel and Moises were also very helpful in orienting my family to whitewater rafting. We saw a lot of wildlife (toucans, red iguanas, lots of Jesus Christ lizards), and got to see the waterfall with the jumping fish. Overall, I'd recommend this for anyone at any level of experience in rafting.

Our family of 5 (kids 14,11,9) had a great day rafting the Savagre with Amigos del Rio. Beautiful location, safe, fun guides - kids loved splashing other rafts, jumping off raft and floating in the river), cool wildlife sightings, refreshing water. One of our favorite activities.

One adult and one 8 year old had a fantastic time rafting again! The water is low in March but still some fun rapids and several chances for us to float down in the river (my son’s favorite part). The guides are all really friendly and knowledgeable.

White water rafting was a blast. Our tour guide was the best, Thanks Kenneth. Tour starts with a great lunch, then a ride into the beautiful Costa Rica for a 2+ hour rafting trip where you will see amazing views and wildlife in addition to your rafting experience.

While the water was low, the trip was pretty fun. The river runs through a beautiful jungle area. We saw a number of birds and lizards and it was lovely. The ride to put in is long and very very bumpy. Our guide Jesus was very nice.

Our family had a great experience with Amigos del Rio! Our family was a group of 10 and Luis was our guide in the van. It is a long bumpy 90 minute ride mostly on a dirt road (aka a Costa Rican massage) to get to the river put in location but Luis was very friendly and explained what we would be doing and described what we were seeing during the drive. He would stop and hop out and get a plant or leaf for us to look at or smell and have us guess what it was. He told dad jokes and educated us about Costa Rican values, culture, government. When we arrived at the rafting site- we received a thorough safety overview of how to sit on the raft and get into positions for paddling, etc. We had 5 people in each raft (2 kids, ages 8-11, and 2 parents and one grandparent) along with Kennith and Ulysses guiding for each raft. There were some moderate rapids that the kids were a little scared of but they did great and we all felt very safe. There were tranquil spots along the river to slip out of the raft and float and swim. We stopped for a break and snack and after a short walk arrived to see the waterfall. We enjoyed watermelon, pineapple and cookies before finishing the float. We had a great time and Little Jaun took some amazing photos/action shots which we ended up buying. We retuned to the office/restaurant and enjoyed traditional arroz con pollo for lunch at around 2:30pm. It was a good day on the river and we would highly recommend Amigos del Rio!

Mosies and all of the guides were so knowledgeable about the local flora and fauna. My son and I had an awesome time rafting and floating in the river. Great memories for us. Thank you Amigos!

Loads of fun on the river. Roller coaster rapids were fun but never dangerous. Not surprisingly, we got completely soaked - which was perfect because it was a hot day. The scenery was gorgeous. We really appreciated our excellent trip leader and guide, Kenneth.

We had a group of 5 from 47 to 76. A couple of us were apprehensive, but we all absolutely loved it and had a wonderful time. Our guide Jesus made the ride to the river very interesting by telling us about Costa Rica. He had a great sense of humor and kept things fun. He was also our pilot on the river. We had great instruction beforehand about what to do. Great fun! Just a terrific experience. We had a delicious local lunch afterwards. Our favorite excursion!

My daughter is 11 years old and I have 15 years of rafting/whitewater experience. To be honest my daughter was not looking forward to whitewater rafting. It was her first time rafting and she has only been kayaking once and hated it. Thankfully we were paired with an incredible guide LUIS. I will tell you out of my 15 years of experience this was the best guide I have ever had. He was so patient with my family and so reassuring with my daughter. At the end of the day my daughter had a blast! She smiled the whole way and enjoyed the thrill of whitewater rafting. This run is pretty tame for my standards but our guide made it interesting an fun that I had way more fun then I anticipated. If you are looking for a fun run, or a run for your family with small children, I promise you this is the perfect river / run to go on. It had plenty of action but wasnt scary for my daughter. And if LUIS is around well I would ask for him by name. Hes a legend that truly has a passion for what he does and he will take the best care of you. This was a bucket list adventure that I wanted for my family and our guide delivered and exceeded my expectations. The water level was on the lower side but dont let that fool you. You will have a great time. And the stop at the waterfall with snacks was so much fun. Thanks to all for a memorable experience for my family and If I could give you a rating of 100 stars I would!

Excellent excursion -- highly recommend. Was one of our top three excursions out of the nine or so we did during our trip. Jesus and Ulises were excellent. They made things fun, kept us safe, and taught us a lot about the flora and fauna of Costa Rica. And shoutout to the driver as well for handling the rough roads! The Sevegre was a great choice for beginners like us.

The guides were so caring and helpful. We met so many great people and had the best time! Recommend! The ride to the river was so beautiful and interesting.

It's well worth the money for what you get out of it. Lunch was provided (healthy, traditional Costa Rican lunch). They even provided my wife with a vegetarian option. The ride there was about an hour and 20 minutes and very bumpy for the last 45 minutes; the ride back was about 40 minutes. The experience itself was surreal. Rainforest-covered mountains all around with their tops covered in the clouds. It was like a painting. We went during the "summer" or dry season, which meant the river was lower and, as a result, we bumped into a few rocks along the way. It did not hamper our rafting at all though. The guide was fantastic, providing a complete nature tour as well as expert advice on paddling and navigating the river. He even let us hop off the boat to swim in the river for a part of it. The rapids were memorable and fun, but not too daunting. We had a 13-year-old and a 9-year-old who absolutely loved it. The company provided a photographer who captured us going down several of the rapids (that did cost extra, about $20 per person). Also, we had a stop at a beautiful waterfall towards the end of the trip. I would definitely go again in a heartbeat. In my opinion, this adventure is a must-do when in Costa Rica.

The views and guides were wonderful on this experience. Andres was very knowledgeable of the area, the flora and the fauna and was a wonderful guide to talk to. The support staff were equally great and made the journey a great time. The only downside was the water levels. The Class II and III's were closer to Class 1. The kids still loved it but we were hoping for more adventure. Next time, an advance warning of the status of the water might have made us make a different choice. We don't fully blame the staff as this is their livelihood and they cannot control the water levels. We'd advise going early in January or during the rainy season for a more classic adventure. And definitely spring the extra cash for the photographer. We have awesome family pics to bring home and look forward to showing our friends and loved ones.

I had a wonderful day with Jesus, Kenneth and the team riding down the Salvegre river. It was dry season so the rapids were fairly gently but still hugely enjoyable. The river is beautiful and in the quiet sections you can hop off the raft and just float along. The team were friendly and everything felt very safe. I would do this again in a heartbeat.

Our family of five loved whitewater rafting with Jesus! All three kids did it for the first time, and they can't wait to do it again. The river and waterfall were beautiful, our guide was knowledgeable and patient, and the photos were well worth the extra expense. The only downside was some sunburned knees. :)

I went with my husband, daughter (7) and mom (71) on a rafting trip with Amigos del Rio on the Savegre River. We all had a blast! My daughter was feeling a bit scared beforehand, but after the first rapid, she really started enjoying herself. Our guide Kenneth and the rest of the team made us feel very comfortable and safe on the river. It was perfectly thrilling for all of us Without being boring. The scenery, especially the waterfall was magnificent. The ride to the river is long, slow, and bumpy. The truck was very comfortable to ride in, and we didn’t mind the journey, but if you’re not up for the 1.5 hours (30 mins on paved, 60 mins on dirt) in the car, you might pass. Tips: - bring dry bag you can connect to yourself if you want to have your phone/camera with you.

This was my absolute favorite of all the tours I did. The crew was very attentive and Aldo had a great report with each other which was great to watch. The rafting was great fun, there were a few class 3. There were people of all ages. Loved jumping in the river and going under the waterfall. I’ve been river rafting several times, the crew was thorough in their safety overview. Highly recommend it. Our tour guide was Jesus. The only thing I would say is don’t bring anything with you, not even your phone, you won’t need any of it.
