If you are looking for a challenging and heart-stopping experience, this is not it. We did the upper pigeon fork. The river is pretty calm, with only one small class 4 rapid. You will get wet in the class 3 rapids. There is a section where some groups were able to surf, but our guide was afraid to try it. It’s a cattle car type operation where they move you through quickly and efficiently.

I’ve wanted to go white water rafting my whole life, and it definitely lived up to the hype! I took my 3 teenagers with me, and they all rated it 10/10! My 17 year old son even wants to come back to be a guide next summer. Daryl U. was cool, knowledgeable, and we always felt safe with him as our guide. All of the other staff were very friendly, and the wetsuit rental was great for a Spring trip! We’re already looking for a time when we can come back again! Thanks Big Creek Expeditions!

Highly recommend Big Creek Expeditions. Organized, efficient, seamless experience. Our guide Josh was great! He was engaging and informative about the river and took extra care easing the first timers in our group with their fears of the rapids. It's a great experience for anyone. Might seem intimidating to someone that hasn't gone white water rafting but they'll love it afterwards, I promise! Oh, and if you're looking to grab lunch after the experience, I recommend the 10 minute drive to Carver's Orchard and Applehouse! Great food!

Have visited Big Creek 5 different times. Never disappointed, always a good time. We take a family vacation to Tennessee every other year and have done been Big Creek every time we have been there.

We had a blast. Davey was a awesome guide and made us all feel very comfortable. He made everything very easy to understand and had great sense of humor. The area was beautiful. We are all ready to do it again.

So much fun and not as scary as we thought it would be. Our guide Chris was great!! So glad we picked a Big Creek Expedition not only was our guide friendly so were the parking attendant and ladies inside and super helpful as well as the “safety” guy! I’d highly recommend particularly because the guides are experienced “veterans” of rafting.

Great tour, with enough excitement for everyone but also do-able by most everyone, young and old. While all the tour guides seemed good, if you can get Jason Michael Webb, you're in for a treat. He's the bearded guy (ok, there are a few bearded guys) who will be enthusiastically greeting cars when you're pulling in and he'll keep you entertained the entire trip.

We had a great time with our guide, Darrell U, on the upper pigeon white water rafting trip. We hit a lot of rapids and it was exciting! I would recommend!

Incredible experience from start to finish! The training gets you ready for the rapids you will face and it is fun for all ages. My daughter sat in the front of the boat and had a blast getting soaked in every single rapid! Our guide Caden was a rockstar. Local knowledge, confident in his skills and gave us a memorable experience.

The staff were amazing. We were a group of 4 - two families of two who couldn't reserve the same time online. When we arrived on site, three ladies who worked the check-in counter made changes to allow the four of us to raft together in the same raft. They encountered other customer requests with a helpful and cheerful attitude. Our guide Jeff was great with children and teens. He provided instruction once we launched and were moving down the river, rather than giving us instruction riverside before we were in the raft. This approach was practical for first time rafter anxiety with our teens. He allowed our group to "surf" which was a fun experience. We highly recommend this outfitter and guide Jeff for a fun rafting trip down the Pigeon River in East TN.

Wonderful experience! Crispy was our guide and made it a very fun and safe experience. The company provides good training, equipment, experienced guides and an overall fabulous experience. I am in my 60’s with arthritic knees so was a little anxious about how I would do but it was easy getting in and out of the boat and am so glad I gave it a try. Would do it again in a heartbeat. Nice bathrooms/showers and gift shop.

Great family experience. Organized, friendly, efficient, and FUN! Willis was awesome. Really treated us to a great rafting experience. Class 3 & 4 rapids were no problem. Gift shop is really nice and affordable. The lockers, showers, and restrooms are newer and nice.

Our family did the full day upper and lower raft trips. The weather was wonderful. The rafting company's equipment was great. the parking was close to the shop. They had a really nice shower/changing house. Most of all the guide was really awesome. Bill knew every stone in the river. He ensured we had fun and avoided any mishaps. To add to that he is a well educated man with a great sense of humor. He explained how the river works in a way anyone can understand. This is a must do when in the gatlinburg area.
