We got this tour as a cruise excursion and to put it nicely it was an adventure. First, the majority of this is a tour bus. So bring food, water, avoid using the John and don't sit in any other seat than the one you started with. Someone in the bus had a literal meltdown when a few people picked different seats after a 1.5 hour stop. Now the Yukon thing. Food was ok and you might want to get your fill. None of the other stores took anything other than cash and change was Canadian. No big deal but the world runs on cards. Stop number two no bathroom and no running water. We haven't made it to any train and we've been at it for about five hours. I'll update this if needed but stick to just train rides.

This is one of the Don’t Miss excursions if you are on a cruise ship. These trains have been refurbished and are a pleasure to ride in. The coaches have a brochure explaining the history of the route, a washroom, free bottled water, and once you are underway you are encouraged to stand on the secure/safe platforms between the coaches for the best pictures possible. The crew is outstanding in their ability to answer questions but also provide a detailed narrative over the PA system as you enjoy this most excellent 3 hour round trip.

Our tour guide was phenomenal. She was friendly and very knowledgeable. The graveyard was very interesting as well as the history of Skagway. The scenery was amazing and the waterfalls were beautiful.

Our tour guide, Castle, was fantastic. She was so knowledgeable about the area. This tour was a great overview of Skagway. We had been here a few other times, but we saw things on this tour that were new to us. Definitely recommend!

Skagway Historic Cemetery, Reid Falls and the ride up the Alaskan Hwy. The driver, Castle I believe, gave wonderful background commentary on all we saw.

We did the white pass train luxury class & although it wasn’t bad, it wasn’t as amazing as we had heard either. If you do this tour, the luxury class is definitely worth it. The tour guide was awesome giving us hints on when to take photos, the food was okay, the chairs were comfortable, & the free alcohol was great. The scenery was pretty, but the train goes up, then the train comes down. Glad we did it & maybe we got a bit too hyped up about this & that is why we were a little let down. Who knows. I don’t regret doing it, but wasn’t blown away either.

The tour guide was very good telling stories about history of the town and jokes. We were a small group of 12 people in a small van, which worked out better than a big bus by the cruise line.

We had a small shuttle which was much nicer than the cruise ship tours, we had 8 people on our bus. The guide/driver did a great job, lots of information about the area, had many stops for photos and gorgeous sites. She was friendly and fun. Beautiful waterfalls, mountains and comfortable ride We also panned for gold which was fun if you never did it before. We chose this tour because we did the train last summer.

Great driver. Had good photo opportunities. A small minibus drove us up the white pass and we stopped at multiple locations for pictures.

Beautiful scenery and nice stops. Every stop was fun, mining for gold was a blast too. The only down side was it was a hot day and the A/C was broken. Unusually hot day, normally it's rainy and cold but windows didn't open so it did get hot but with frequent stops did help.

The scenery was beautiful. We were lucky to be there before the clouds came in. Our guide was great, stories and facts about it all. Did I say BEAUTIFUL scenery?

Tour was as described. Great small bus tour with lots of stops to see the sights along the Klondike Highway. It is a locally owned company that our drive spoke very positively about. We had a great driver. He provided a behind the scenes prospective of Skagway. He was very knowledgeable of the area and point out lots of points of interest. The tour started on time and was very enjoyable. The whole family enjoyed it. We did the white pass with gold panning. The only thing that was not as indicated was the smart bus driver charged us ($5) for a round trip ticket to Klondike tours. If we were to do it again, we would probably walk. It was only a few blocks from the cruise terminal. I would recommend this tour to anyone that wants a great tour that still always for time in Skagway for other things. The tour pretty much parallels the white pass rail road but it has several stops for pictures of landscape views and water falls, plus the welcome to Alaska sign makes a nice souvenir picture and the water fall at the old cemetery is really cool.

Weren’t informed by Viator that the tour was cancelled by them or by tour operator. Upon arrival I was told that they don’t have a reservation and after showing the tickets I was told that the booking was cancelled. Viator is since then in a process of “investigating” but hasn’t refunded the amount payed. Since we got the information about cancellation just about the tour was to begin we were not able to chose another tour because we only had a few ours left in the port. Spoiled day thanks of Viator.

This is a must-do for any first-time visitor to the area. Such beauty and heritage in the white pass. However, this has gone downhill since covid.

Billie a 27 yr year round resident was our guide. She not only shared the beauty and history of Skagway but her life experiences. At the end of the tour you were family and you took home a total feeling of her joy and love of a life very different from yours. There is nothing like a tour by a local.

Ben from Packer Expeditions was an excellent guide! We did the tour while on a cruise stop in Skagway and it was really cool and informative. I highly recommend Ben as a guide he really knows his stuff and had soooo much information to share about pretty much everything we saw on our tour!!
