Although this tour matched the description and our guide, Mariana, was great, this trip wasn’t exactly what we were looking for. We mainly wanted to explore the park and this tour primarily provided swimming opportunities. The hike to the swimming areas, especially to the first one, was VERY steep and slippery. One could easily hurt themself if they were not careful. It was definitely not the exploratory hike through the park that we were hoping for. However, the fault was ours for not selecting a tour that better matched our goals, not the operator’s or our guide’s fault. If you are looking for swimming opportunities in gorgeous locations, this is the tour for you.

A simply amazing day. We lucked out with the most beautiful weather imaginable and the best guide. While it’s a bit of a long drive (1.5 hours from Porto), we enjoyed the company of Renate and our fellow travelers. The park is wonderful, both the natural environment and the villages that exist inside it. We learned about our surroundings from Renate and shared a lovely lunch outside with an incredible view. The hiking was not long but probably not advisable for anyone with any mobility issues. We had the opportunity to swim twice in the ice cold but refreshing water and made our way, somewhat treacherously, climbing over big rocks, sometimes slippery. Bring good water resistant shoes or a second pair in case the first get wet. We are a family of four (kids 9 and 11) and we all loved the adventure.

Good tour and sites visited very scenic. Our guide was enthusiastic and knowledgeable. Tour lunch was very good. Only downside is that the vehicle, with 8 onboard, is very cramped, stuffy and uncomfortable, especially if people travel with day packs.

Our Exploring Peneda Gerés trip combined an extraordinary guide, a carefully organized itinerary, lovely meals to make a very special trip. In addition, the small size and multi-national composition of the group enhanced the experience. I loved every minute of it. Thank you very much

Emanuel was a great and patient guide and shared a lot of interesting knowledge about the park and the village population. The areas we went to were beautiful and the lunch restaurant was also very good. Thank you for the positive experience!

Certainly the “swimming hole” was awesome and fun but the hiking and scenery were just spectacular Emmanuel, our guide, was fun, informative and flexible. We were 5 separate guests and he listened to us all and made sure he found something interesting for all of us. If you have the time don’t miss out on this tour.

Renate our guide was excellent, with an intimate knowledge of the local village and its people, the walks and swimming spots were amazing and lunch was delicious

We had the most wonderful day - one of the best tours I've ever been on. Renata and Mariana our guides for the day knew the best spots, picked an amazing lunch and were so attentive with our 6 year old who was taken away by the beautiful waterfalls we went to see. I would do it all over again!

Went on a solo trip, guides were amazing, 10/10 recommended! The path was definitely challenging, which was super nice in my opinion !

I initially booked this experience to do some hiking and enjoy the waterfalls, but came out of it learning a lot of great local knowledge about the shepherd communities living in the national park plus hiking to and from waterfalls. It was a really nice day to be outside enjoying the country side of Northern Portugal!

Nunez was a great guide. He shared lots of information and was flexible based on the group's interest. We visited 3 locations within the park that you would not be able to see without a guide. The tour of the village was super interesting snd he clearly knows the residents. Lunch was excellent, a true Portuguese meal. Safety was always a priority. Would recommend taking the time away from the city to explore the wild side of Portugal.

What a great day! Emanuel and Diogo were very friendly and welcoming and took us for a great day out around the national park! The views were amazing and they taught us so much about the local culture! Definitely recommend for anyone visiting Porto!

My son and I really enjoyed our tour of Peneda-Geres National Park. Renate was a wonderful guide for our trip. We went on two waterfall hikes and had a nice tour of an old village that is located in the park. Renate was very knowledgeable about the history of the park and did everything possible to make all members of our tour as comfortable as possible. She assisted some members of our tour who had trouble with the steepness of the waterfall hikes. A traditional Portuguese lunch at a restaurant in the park was included in the tour. Overall, a great experience.

Without a car it is not easy for us to go to Peneda Gares National Park. This small group trip solved this problem. The weather was not so nice, but the scenery is still great. Our tour guides Diogo was nice, talkative and friendly. We also had a nice local lunch. Driving in the mountain road was an exciting experience. We enjoyed the day very much.

Amazing day visiting the countryside and local village people, delicious local food and our guide knew all of the local people if Fafiao. Gorgeous picturesque town and the landscape and waterfall absolutely stunning

This was one of the best tours we've done. If you are a nature lover, it's a must, you will enjoy every moment of it! Our tour guide Luis was very knowledgeable and shared many interesting historical facts about the formation of waterfalls and old village. He was very personable and funny and just a pleasure to spend a day with! We highly recommend this tour.

What are great time! Renate was an outstanding guide. She was so knowledgeable and personable. She took us on a wonderful adventure to see a number of beautiful locations. The water at the waterfall and lagoon was like no other we had ever seen, so clear and green! The lunch that we were served was well beyond expectation, so many delicious dishes. It was a great experience!

Wonderful day of adventure. Off reading, hiking, visiting a small village, planting a tree and going for a swim. Amazing!
