Me and my cousin did a tour in the Favelas and learned so much. We took incredible pictures, met some of the locals, and ate some of the best local food. We saved this excursion for last and it was by far the best experience ever. Our tour guide was insanely knowledgeable about the history, nice, and even a great photographer. I highly recommend his services. You’ll love it !

We had an excellent tour with Caio! It is definitely the most insightful walking tour I've ever done! Without ruining the surprise of the tour, we got a great understanding of the history of the Rocinha Favela, including how it is run today. We got delicious local snacks and drinks along the way. We were taken to some amazing view points where Caio put a lot of effort into getting us great photos. Caio was very informative, showing us things that we have never seen before, as we went along the alleys and paths of the Favela. I 100% recommend to a friend 😁

Very interesting and comprehensive tour of the Favella. Caio has a very good knowledge of the community having lived there and also established local relationships off the main streets. He has very good English and works hard to make the experience the best possible.

I had a great experience with Caio. He has lots of first person experience living in a favela and he knows the history and living style there. He’s a good communicator, and did a great job building the bridge between local people and me, a tourist. If you have enough time I would highly recommend to go to the central city to see the first favela in Rio. Plus, Caio is a great photographer!

Good guide with good English and easy to arrange through what’s app . He did a great 3 hour tour with me through the favela. Felt very safe with him , I used him only in favela tour as you need a guide to go off the main paths and he was good for this . He’s very relaxed with time ! But would recommend him

The tour was nice and we felt safe. We got to see some nice views of Rio. The guide was nice but I wish he had taken the time to go through a little more into the history and the social side of the visit. It would have been nice to try some food during the tour too. There was time for it. Our visit was supposed to be 2’30 to 3 hours and we wrapped up the whole thing in 1’30m…

I’m absolutely impressed with Caio and the tour. As a tourist, you get to see the glossy side of Rio a lot, but this favela tour is an absolute must do: this is where history of Brazil and the more realistic take on life in Rio connect. It’s an absolute misconception to think of favelas as this red flag, or a spot you should never come close to, and Caio really proved this. It was super safe (and they usually are in any case, especially for tourists), but you’d still want a guide like Caio to walk you through all the interesting stuff - mototaxi to the way up, background and history, and of course an amazing experience on the way down. You’ll see peoples houses, the local dynamic commerce, get to buy smth unique from local artists, and go off-road for something super one of a kind (let’s leave this as a tease). And the coolest part is that Caio knows a lot of people inside, so you’ll get into an absolutely friendly and safe atmosphere while enjoying some of the most beautiful views on Rio (Rocinha is located in some of the top spots so you’ll see some mesmerising views). Absolutely recommended for anyone who’s in Rio for even the shortest time :)

What an insightful and fascinating tour. Ciao is engaging and informative. Most of the tours stay on the main road through the favela, while Ciao took us through the ‘real’ community through the alleyways and back streets. I loved learning about and exploring the favela community. Also, Ciao was so gracious to give us a ride to the beach.
