This tour was a great way to learn about the basics of Quebec City. I would highly recommend this tour on your first day in Quebec. It helps point out the interesting things to see and do. Then on the rest of our trip we revisited some of the sites. Our tour guide was very informative & funny. We also had fabulous weather that day. And that made things even better

The day we took our 2-hour historical Quebec walking tour it was 16° f. Our guide was excellent! He moved at a comfortable pace for everyone in our party and did a good job of giving us lots of information. He was easy to understand and spoke in loud enough voice that everyone could hear. Because it was so cold. It was a nice to take a couple detours inside some of the churches and then we even stopped for hot cocoa which was great! I assumed because it was so cold that the tour probably would not last the full 2 hours, but it actually went a little beyond which was okay. A few people did leave the group because they were too cold - so make sure you dress appropriately! I will say that you in the tour at the lower part of Old Town, so it does require a lot of stairs. However, there is a funicular you could probably ride down and meet the group at the bottom if you have mobility issues. I would recommend the tour.

We were really glad we went on this tour. Our guide was in character the whole time, incredibly knowledgable, and quite entertaining. He was very open to questions and seemed to really enjoy whenever a tour participant showed interest or curiosity in any detail of old Québec. Attending this tour afforded nuance and backstory to the old town which we would not have otherwise gained. We also got to walk right into a couple neat locations we would have otherwise missed. And, our guide actually lives in old Québec and shared his personal perspective on what it's like to live in a 400-year-old town that has seen much less modernization over the centuries than the rest of the city. If I visit Québec again I will sign up for another Cicerone tour for sure!

If I had known there was going to be a lot of very steep hills and a multitude of stairs I would not have booked this tour. Street cleaners and garbage pickup made hearing difficult.

My wife and I spent 3 days in Quebec City and went on 3 tours with Cicerone; the Walking tour, the ferry tour and the tour of the Chateau Frontenac. All were very interesting with great guides. We really enjoyed all three and would recommend them.

The history of Quebec walking tour was a fabulous introduction to the history of the city. Sandrine, our guide, explained the history really thoroughly while having quite a lot of fun along the way. A really enjoyable few hours.

We were next to the guide, inside the church, taking a picture. A few seconds later, we turned around -no guide. We immediately went outside-no guide. We frantically moved around the construction, looking both ways for our group and only saw a mass of umbrellas in all directions! We went up & down streets, searching. We went to the lower Quebec level, where he said we would spend the last part of the tour, and looked up & down, to no avail. We were told later, by a fellow cruise traveler, that WHEN he realized that we were missing, he looked for us. The tour guide should have counted his group as soon as he gathered outside the church … not when he reached his next destination. We only had a 15 minute “tour.” Not Acceptable .

Great tour - we learned much about Quebec's history. Although a walking tour, the amount of climbing was not very strenuous.

I enjoyed it when the host put himself back in time and commented many times that he was dead. He tried to shock us with the truth such as having 18 kids...with one wife.

Our tour guide was excellent, taking us through the history of Québec through the buildings and areas of the city. His knowledge of the different rulers and how Québec evolved over time was very detailed and his love for it's history was evident.

Our guide assumed the persona of an historical person and brought him to life.He was knowledgeable and interesting, making the tour informative and enjoyable for us.

The guide was not comfortable with the English language. He took too long to give explanations. That means that our time standing was too long. We couldn't finish the tour

Quebec...what a wonderful, historic and romantic city. This guided tour was a delight and our host Louise was enthusiastic, charming and so knowledgeable of the city. She took us through the back streets and lanes to show us Quebec at its best 👌

We did both tours the walking history tour and the restaurant sample food tour and it was excellent 👌 the tour guy Jean -Claude Matheus was Excellent very friendly and professional. Anyone visiting Quebec should do this tours

A great introduction to Quebec. Worth doing a bit of prep before like a short history summary from a guidebook to get the full benefit. There’s a lot of dates and names so get the gist beforehand.

Excellent tour. Exactly as described. Sardine was wonderful. We are from Canada and still we learned so much. Would recommend. Easy to find.
