This tour was great! Our guide was very knowledgeable, and I learned a ton about Mombasa history as we walked through Fort Jesus. Old Town was a great experience, and the Spice Market was so cool! So many fresh spices, fruits, vegetables, candy, etc!

He is very knowledgeable about city walking and Fort Jesus and takes some very beautiful pictures. He was also very friendly and I was very pleased with his service. In Fort Jesus he explained the history of the city with some of the highlights. In Old Town, he explained the streets to us and introduced us to a very conscientious jeweler. The spice market was very fascinating as he taught us about the various spices!

Humphrey's Tour is a Must Do! We started at Fort Jesus and Humphrey's knowledge of the Fort and history were amazing! Then walked though old town Mombasa and stopped at a very nice gift store. Then on to the Spice Market in a Tuk Tuk (that's an experience). Lastly Humphrey dropped us at a wonderful local restaurant for a seafood lunch. Great tour guide and tour... we thoroughly enjoyed it!

We took part in the half day tour of Old Town Mombasa, the spice market, the elephant tusks of Mombasa and Fort Jesus! Humphrey knew so much about the history of Mombasa and was so passionate telling us about it all. We had such an enjoyable morning, I especially enjoyed the spice market where we got to sample lots of spices and fruits! Humphrey also took us to fabric shops where he was sure to get us a decent price!! Thank you so much Humphrey for an amazing tour and for being so kind and helpful!! We have learnt so much and would definitely recommend you to anyone visiting Mombasa. This is a must-see activity when you visit Mombasa!

Mr. Humphrey is an amazing tour guide! We ran into him outside of Fort Jesus Museum, and he is a very kind and reputable tour guide. He is a wonderful historian of Fort Jesus and Old Town, as well as an effective bargainer on our behalf in the Spice Markets. He was more than happy to answer any of our questions, as well as take photos, and made us feel safer as solo traveling women. Thank you Mr. Humphrey!

I was in Mombasa for a weekend and looking for a fun and easy way to see some of the town as a solo woman traveller. Humphrey was perfect. He texted me the day before to confirm where to meet and was waiting with a smile at the agreed upon time. He is very knowledgeable and really enriched my visit to Fort Jesus, which is a must see. He gave me good advice at the spice market, helped me do some shopping and waited with me for my uber back to the hotel. He was a really nice person to spend a couple of hours with. 10 out of 10, highly recommend!

An interesting visit with a knowledgeable guide but two different tours were combined resulting in a large group and much waiting around.

The Tour guide never showed up for the tour. He told me he was going to pick me up at the Cruise Port Terminal but he never did. I texted several times and he never bothered to answer me or give me any explanation. I lost my whole day in Mombasa because of his irresponsibility and inconsiderate behavior. Don't use Humphrey Ngudu.s company.

Enjoyed the food and spice market, cathedral and slave market information, but the whole tour was excellent. Very well presented by Mohammed, a very knowledgeable, courteous young man with exceptional English.

Humphrey is so nice and very attentive! He was early and very communicative before and after the tour! He made sure all was organized and everyone on the tour needs were met! He is very knowledgeable about the history of Mombasa and goes above and beyond for all of his clients!! The price is super reasonable especially if you come from a place where your currency is higher - your support goes a long way and it won’t starve anyone to pay the price it is listed as! You get your exercise in which I love because I am a very active person and great photos with a great deal of history! An amazing day conversing with Humphrey and others I met along the way! Highly recommend!!!

Thanks so much for a fabulous walking tour of Mombasa, Humphrey! It was a highlight of our holiday in Kenya. Everything about the experience you gave us was spot on. From the engaging info to the pace, itinerary and highlights. You were just like having a local friend showing us around!

The Fort Jesus and Old Town tour was interesting, and Humphrey definitely knows his material. However, for the price charged I was pretty underwhelmed by the experience offered. I assumed the $50 price tag was because it was low season and so it was basically booking a private tour. I still thought it was high but thought I'd give it a shot since it had such good reviews (and I went to check his website to see if there was a way to book directly for cheaper, but his website actually directs people back there). Once getting to the tour, I was surprised there was actually someone else there as well. On top of that, the tour was about 2, maybe 2.5 hours and I had to pay an entry fee of 1200 KSH. I remember being surprised that so many people paid this fee for what was a group tour that was quite short and didn't include entry - then I found out that this tour is _also_ posted on a different platform as a "pay what you wish" type free walking tour, which is where I think more bookings come from. If I booked that, I think I would have felt differently and probably given $15-20 as my tip to him on top of the entry fee for the fort, but I did not feel the tour was worth anything near $50, and I think it's a little bit deceptive to offer this paid experience and club it together with that. It's also not unintentional because Humphrey's personal website only directs people back to this booking rather than both platforms. Three stars because he was a good guide, but definitely would not pay this much for it, not worth the cost.

The tour was good for me. Humphrey covered the key features of the Fort Jesus site, and shared a great bit of details about the Portuguese, Omani, and British incursions in this area. We did not cover everything on the itinerary because Humphrey arrived 40 minutes late. To add insult to injury, when he arrived he didn’t come straight to where we were, he went to a kiosk to purchase something. It was the other tour guides in the area who identified him for us. Toward the end of the tour, we felt a little rushed because he had to meet another group. I was displeased about this because I don’t think that we got what we paid for. More generally, I did not get a sense of the native African perspective of that history that exists outside of the European or Arab gaze.
